I had used the AutoGlym kit (from Halfords using S.O.C. discount card) but read about using bicarb toothpaste
These lights on my lads colt had already been subject to the kit treatment but still had a touch of 'cepia' about them so I thought I would try the toothpaste
I did one and then took photos of each to have a direct comparision
Before
After
So - Worth trying a tube of tootpaste before spending £25 or so on a full kit
Clutch slave cylinder refurb completed
Before
Prepped for paint
Post paint ready for installation also replaced OEM rubber hose with HEL braided item
Assembled, installed and bled
Try this site for options? Not sure if your model is single or double headlamp though??

wow sorry to hear that - timing belt could mean valves have met pistons and you have many curved items that are supposed to be straight
I wouldnt try and dissuade you from an engine swop however you would def need a remap plus if you went 2.5 I think you would end up having to change everything to do with air coming in exhaust going out and the fuel supply.
I would consider a 2.0 change but again map, fuel system all may need looking at
a comparison of the two Ryans wheels on your car will stick out nearly 2 cm further which will fill out your arches nicely and give 7mm increased internal clearance - effectively away from the side of your caliper
So you should be fine with stock brembo calipers - probably even get a bigger set in there
He hasn't started yet 😕 - Its a long story but there have been one or two distractions in his personal life - dodgy wiring almost burning his whole house down for one, expecting to hear something this week
I did find out that the gear box ratio will get 200mph if the engine is allowed to rev to 8500K so I have asked if he can check the heads with that rev limit in mind as well - I think that will def need some parts but that is on me....
There are 3 elements to look at.
small pressed metal brackets on the underside that may be bent which could be easily reshaped or replaced
the main crash bar behind the bumper may be bent which will be a little more challenging as it is more robust
or the clip mounts along the top or edge of the bumper - you can see if these are out by the gap size against the metal rear quarter panels.
The bumper is easy to remove but be careful if it is windy as it turns into a sail and gets more damage when it lands (as I found out now also needing a blow over)
check the lower brackets and panel gaps first as it is an easy eye ball then look at a remove / refit where you can inspect the bash bar
Edit - just noticed you dont say saloon or hatch for your car, all my above stuff is hatch based experience but a quick look at some pictures whilst the bumper shape itself is slightly different the mountings look the same
Would this fit your model? Then you could add the second reverse light

On my imprezas I have moved the foglights to the bumper replacing reflectors with combination led reflector units £15 and then linked the left side to the right by a single wire plus upgrading to 80W LED's - passed MOT no problem
Why not try moving your existing reverse light bulb across to check if it is live - dont know your model but I take it it is not your rear fog light on the opposite side?
I have purchased LED REV light upgrades from this supplier with no issues

I dont have a wiring diagram however I would suggest using a relay as spots would suggest a high current draw. This generic diagram has all the detail for teh main circuit then you just need a switch to activate the relay
