  1. I would upgrade, do you have braided hoses? and a flush through with Dot5.1 will help with temps and also if it has been a while since it was last flushed there is probably water been absorbed which will not help
  2. Wotcha and welcome - The 1.5 suffers from a power to weight ratio challenge - small engine but by comparison a large heavy car to lug around this parkers link gives 37mpg and tank range of 488miles https://www.parkers.co.uk/subaru/impreza/hatchback-2007/15-r-5d/specs/ This I would say would be possible with a light foot on a long motorway run but urban driving I would say a lot less My 2.0 RX NA returns 28mpg ave with urban driving 37- 42 on a long run Do you have the dash ave mpg indicator. Has it been serviced regularly - new filter, plugs etc. If it has been run on rubbish fuel the injectors may be partially blocked. Try adding a bottle of injector cleaner for the next few times you fill up - If you can get hold of BG44K that is good stuff but tends to be from a local garage not in shops, or Millars is another one I am using when I cannot get the BG stuff http://www.millersoils.co.uk/products/0/580
  3. Wotcha and welcome - awesome motor 😍
  4. Wotcha and welcome - keep us posted on progress, all friendly on here so feel free to jump in
  5. Wotcha and welcome - never owned a Hawk but I am finding many chassis parts are interchangeable between wrx and 2.0NA versions of the hatch so I would be optimistic. Worth trawling some of of the subaru parts sites and seeing if the suspension part numbers are the same between yours and the wrx. I know there are component differences between the wrx and STi for example larger wheel bearing and alloy hubs on the STi however that doesn't necessarily follow that the fitment is different
  6. get the matching pair - change both to STi?
  7. Go for DEX III better performance and resistance to breakdown vs DEX II - a good mid price oil is the Fuchs option but I used Castrol ATF for my last change Fuchs TITAN ATF 4400 Automatic Transmission Fluid
  8. Yes it is - liking the CDB as standard but the Germans know a thing or two about engineering - the efficiency is becoming a more of a myth these days though 😁
  9. Some great motors there but not a fan of that supra too much form over function for me - was spoilt when the Top Secret supra was revealed and that tends to be my benchmark
  10. Performed a twin reversing light, twin rear foglight conversion and upgraded front fog lights on the RX.
  11. Is this the same style of cluster? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2008-2013-Subaru-Forester-Breaking-car-wheel-nut/163405029979?hash=item260bb2e25b:g:vgoAAOSwzHRbJ-WD
  12. Wotcha and welcome - did they share any codes when you took it in to be checked?
  13. Mileage with a good service history should not be an issue, put some money aside for headgasket replacement as preventative maintenance if it has not been done already
  14. Did you get anywhere with this - have just received the disc from the link so will let you know how I get on
  15. Wotcha and welcome - feel free to get stuck in, share photos etc all friendly on here
  16. Me to - that is engineering take something and improve - If I was lucky enough to be able to buy an original cobra - the brakes would have a serious upgrade, originals stored nicely away
  17. was looking at cross climates for 16inch rims but unfortunately they don't do the size I need
  18. That lockdown kit looks good - I have just replaced the standard cast front diff support with an STI alloy item due to a leaking bush so need a replacement for the STI so that gives me some aftermarket - second hand opportunities instead of buying new with standard bushes Will look into the steering lockdown also, seen those whilst browsing previously
  19. I have a 2008 RX and yes the ARB's are the same size - Agree with the standard springs as it is more of a daily but may complete the bush replacement as you have done - 79k on clock so they will have deteriorated a little by now. The droplinks on mine were knocking on one side so replaced both of those, another interesting afternoon under the car with a dremmel trying to cut through a well shielded bolt
  20. The 6 speed gearbox, differential and axles are good for easy 500bhp - pretty solid - should be no issues there
