    Vw group scandal

depends what they do, the nitrogen emission was high to reduce co2. other companies use urea injection (a small tank that does need filling now and again) to reduce the emissions, the VW engine didn't have that. Ironicly saved em £300 per unit (per engine), given there now talking billions in costs i suspect that may prove a costly way to try to get a bit more profit.
  2. just need to be carefull its right fitment. but also the subaru brembos have a really crap offset so may mean wheels or spacers needed as well
  3. welcome:D

    Vw group scandal

I suspect if it changes the tax bracket or reduces the power then its a change to the car's spec and therefore due a refund. Depends if they manage to weedle out of it or not.
  5. Yours is a wrx isnt it chris? TBH i;d just say sod it and chuck a D2 brake upgrade at it or AP for the big daddy. Stay away from Ksport though the dust seals on em are crap.
  6. yeah pretty comon thing that, decent brush up and they come up pretty well
  7. the time of failure doesn't always mean that's when the damage was done. Tis unusual though, the hawk wrx box's are pretty strong, i ran over 400ftlb for a good 14 months no issues.
  8. i was sat on the side of the mountain on the isle of mann when mine went hahaha, worse places to break down though,
  9. depends on how bad the box had gone, mine locked up most of the gears and even with the clutch down still wouldn't free wheel and that was only when i stripped 3rd gear clean of all its teeth lol
  10. 0/450 not much extra milage this week so far, been using the volvo
  11. pointless as well tbh. If its to warm it up you wanna start it and drive off steady for a few miles, sat with engine running doesn't allow the heat to circulate properly or heat up oil in other things like diff and gearbox
  12. So first 500 done :D Oil change today and another 500 to go, done 30 so far lol Today swapped out the faded seats for some in much better nick. Last week when it fired up it kicked out some blue smoke so looks like the turbo is knackered so new one will go on, prob sc32 for silly spool or sc36. I have a new age top mount that's already converted to fit a classic that will go on it. Just need to do the next 500 and then get it booked in for mapping :D 0/470 :D
  13. first oil change done :D
  14. you wanna go see the doctor about that,,,,,,, o sorry slap, not clap,,,, hahahaha
  15. unless your going to scandinavia and temps are going -30 then why bother?
  16. im up there tomorrow for an oil change so if you wanna head up for a look see and a tour then no bother, no obligation to buy anything, although i highly recommend the pork pies hahaha
  17. when a proper remap take 100+ pulls on the dyno how good do you think map will be with just a single one? get it looked at properly mate
  18. Stay away from cobb, its a plug and flash thing, bad bad move. Get it up to clinic for a health check as a starting point then go form there. No point in spending money for stuff you dont need.
  19. scoobyclinic are pretty close mate (chesterfield), be a much better bet. run it down to em and get em to run a health check on it
  20. welcome
