    Your age

much to learn my young padawan,,, hahahaha
  2. Headgasket = bottom end build as well. It will more than likley cause the bearings to be pinched and they have a high chance of failing after a very short period. 2k is pretty cheap for a full build though. But as said, sounds like he is clueless, where is it?

Yep, you old !Removed!!!!! im 33 haha
  6. bearing would have gone long before now so wouldnt worry lol
  7. how long has it been doing it for?
  8. Mine was on roughly 105k, but it has had a hard life. It was used for a track car for a while, which is never going to be healthy for it. Until summit goes wrong i wouldn't worry about it, The Forrester wont be as highly tuned as the type r so should last alot longer
  9. hehe, brakes are one thing on mine that are fine, AP for the win :D
  10. Slow and steady, will need to do the box and supporting mods before really cranking it up. Gearbox, cooling, turbo, etc etc etc all adds up lol
  11. Had the engine report come in from clinic, bit of a mixed bag. 'the crankshaft big end bearings have all worn down to the copper, this has subsequently marked the crankshaft but I'm hoping it will polish so we can reuse it. The worst thing I found is a three thou taper on cylinders two and four, cylinders one and three are marginally better, this is way out of specification. I also removed a couple of valves to check the seats and these are also worn and will need recutting, the valves themselves will need refacing.' 'This is basically just a worn engine' So nothing has failed as such, just showing its age. The block is salvagable if machined and then oversize pistons used, but power will be limited due to wall thickness reduction. Given that in mind decided to take that out of the equasion. managed to source a 2.0CDB for decent money, so that will be going in it, with a 2.1 stroker kit and my heads resfreshed. Should be good for well over 500 in the future :D Only hurdle is the engine shop is mega busy so gonna be 4 week till mine is in for building :(
  12. haha yeah, hes got an m4 as a daily iirc
  13. think thats the one thats been floating round for a log in time, think its the old USA demo model. seats are gash, wheels are wrong colour etc etc

  18. needs the audi low light camera as well though
  19. my first question. whats wrong with it, way too cheap
  20. 7 seater. hmm, sti, 300bhp, awd, milf wagon,,, lol
  21. Parts fail, only time there worth doing. It's not a service item. Oil pumps are similar situation. Considering more piston lands fail than water pumps should they be done as a service item? lol
  22. Drive it steady (off boost) for first few miles to let oil temp come up (takes longer for oil temp to come up than water, so just cos water temp gauge is ok doesn't mean oil is). Drive it steady last few miles to let ALL fluids circulate and cool evenly. Any other time, loud pedal free for all :) I would advise getting an oil temp guage, impreza engines run hot and oil temp can kill the engine. Friend of my thraped living fook out of his car for 80,000 miles, didnt blow the engine, but he always warmed it up, let it cool down and car was maintained no expense spared. Car finaly had enough when pin balled off 3 trees, but he walked away unhurt.
