  1. Guy i;ve known for many years has been having his restored, total nut and bolt rebuild, its stunning. http://midlandscoobies.invisionzone.com/index.php?showtopic=34704&page=1
  2. yeah, i dont by the 'driven on finest days' bit.
  3. extreamnly vaugue on details about who built it, waht mods etc etc
  4. lmao, not heard of one go for ages and suddenly two come along at once, grrr,,,,, lol
  5. needs the audi low light camera as well though
  6. my first question. whats wrong with it, way too cheap
  7. 7 seater. hmm, sti, 300bhp, awd, milf wagon,,, lol
  8. Parts fail, only time there worth doing. It's not a service item. Oil pumps are similar situation. Considering more piston lands fail than water pumps should they be done as a service item? lol
  9. Drive it steady (off boost) for first few miles to let oil temp come up (takes longer for oil temp to come up than water, so just cos water temp gauge is ok doesn't mean oil is). Drive it steady last few miles to let ALL fluids circulate and cool evenly. Any other time, loud pedal free for all :) I would advise getting an oil temp guage, impreza engines run hot and oil temp can kill the engine. Friend of my thraped living fook out of his car for 80,000 miles, didnt blow the engine, but he always warmed it up, let it cool down and car was maintained no expense spared. Car finaly had enough when pin balled off 3 trees, but he walked away unhurt.
  10. as above, leave well alone
  11. Bummer :( Decent rods, pistons, head gasket and head studs are a must for the rebuild.
  12. Power increase per extra pound gets lower and lower as you go up the power level. Wait till you aim for 500 lol Getting power isnt difficult, kepping reliability isnt so easy.
  13. gonna do 2 groups here (will make sence) daily pug 106 (even had a manual choke hahaha) Astra G sri Series mcrae impreza 1999 uk turbo 2000 (became weekend toy after being heaily moded) rover 214 Rover coupe BMW 528 Hawk wrx (forged 2.5, 400bhp) BWW 528 (same car again hahaha) E46 M3 Ford foucs (company car) Volvo V50 Weekend toys 1999 Turbo 2000 impreza (went fronm daily to weekender) 1998 Type R impreza
  14. even turbos are tbh, well bar the 2.5 lol there so easy to tune tends to be when people start to up the power they go wrong, right supporting mods can make a big difference to that mind you
  15. what ron fuel can you get, 97?
  16. Assuming your car is an 03 sti then standard engine will cope fine with 400. so its basic bolt on bits Turbo (sc42 or similar) BIgger injectors (700's) Cold air induction kit (wing mounted) Full decat Headers up pipe front mount possibly a oil cooler kit (thermosticly controlled), heat may be an issue 3 port boost solenoid and personaly i would go aftermarket ecu, alcatek or syvecs is best option but ain't cheap. to anwer your question, yes you will need a bigger turbo, v35 wont run 400.
  17. welcome, a scoob is a scoob. Turbo or no turbo. None turbo models are pretty renowned for being one of the most reliable cars on the market :)
  18. Tip to save some money for folks. Unlike other cars, subaru water pumps are pretty bullet proof. It isn;t a service item and if its not broke just leave it be. Seems to be few people talkign about replacing it when they do a cambelt. Its not required to be replaced and not a service item The one in my old classic was at least 10 years old and would be even older if the new owner didnt roll it and kill it. CUrrent car looks to hve origional wter pump still and its 17 years and 105,000 miles old. Save yer money peeps. leave it be :)
  19. welcome :D
  20. Tidgy

  22. hope its better than the last battlefront lol
  23. how old are you? £1200 for insurance seems pretty steep (unless young whiper snapper of course lol)
  24. Todays rant, Fookin Hayfever. What fooking prick though this up? sneezing instead of breathing, nose running like a 8000 diameter pipe and eyes like sandpaper. *****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  25. DOnt need to bother changing the water pump or the oil pump unless there broke. should save a few pennys
