  1. I’m sorry to hear about that mate. I have to get my head gaskets done which is a pain. One way you can check is to get a kit to test the coolant. I got one from drheadgasket and it revealed exhaust gasses are leaking into the coolant. ive been quoted £1700 by a specialist in Scotland to do mine but it includes a new timing belt kit as well
  2. I’m not quite sure what you mean by arch rub. Ideally you need to degrease the area you are waxoyling, at least pressure wash away the grime. allow it to dry and then apply the waxoyl. It does drive out moisture but the less added moisture it needs to drive out the better. hope that helps
  3. Hi mate I have both front seats but I’m away until Tuesday. They’re from a 96 wrx. I can send you some pictures if you’re interested?
  4. Sorry to hear all the trouble your having mate. My 96 WRX has had similar issues. Faulty wiring was a lot of my woes. A wire to the maf sensor was split, my coil pack was shorting in the colder weather and the last time I unplugged and replugged my maf sensor and it worked. So from my own experience I would recommend checking the condition of all your wires to the sensors. I hope that’s some help and I’m sure you will get some more advice 👍
  5. Also try PCA dynamics for decent coil springs.
  6. Thanks Mr B They were all OEM Japanese Koyo and nsk parts with a dayco belt the last time. It’s great to hear that there are also some alternatives for belts too 👍
  7. Hi everyone I am looking for some advice for my 2.0 sohc n/a legacy mk2. The last time I did the timing belt I also replaced idlers, tensioner, water pump and the front crank seal. Since then it’s done 40k miles. Is it just the belt or will it be wise to replace more? Also what brand is worth going for? Thanks for your help
  8. Just refurbishing my alloys for my gc8. So far the prep is going well.
  9. Wow that sounds like a really sound guy. It’s great to see it being done right too... even if the prep is a little scary
  10. Thanks mate I’ve ordered a new coil pack from ICP as it started to spark worse and it idled really rough.
  11. Hi everyone I was working on my 96 WRX at the weekend changing suspension (build thread will be coming) and as I was dropping the bonnet after I started the engine I noticed this: (picture attached) there seems to be slight arching. Does this mean that I need to replace the coil pack?? I appreciate your help in advance
  12. Great result! I’ve not tried Asperformance before. Are you going for a fast road setup? I spent some time scouring the threads for solving starting up issues. Great wealth of information that helped me to narrow down the issue to a faulty MAF connection.
  13. I have a Look Whiteline rear antiroll bar I no longer need. I will post some pictures later. I also have new tein lowering springs Both fit a gc8. I am open to offers but I was hoping to get £100 for each.
  14. I had to spend £150 for my version 3 o2 sensor being a WRX and not a turbo 2000 😬 Its only 2 years old however it’s helped it pass emissions both times.
  15. Fantastic work. It really looks brilliant 👍
  16. Nice work mate. I’m currently servicing my 96 WRX and found out that the pcv valve and breather pipes are a little knackered so I’ll be kept busy, at least I have a catch can to fit
  17. Great work, especially seeing the difference of cleaning up the rusty bolts. Some good suspension goodies
  18. What make are you thinking of getting?
  19. Love the car mate, they are brilliant. Is it a fresh import?
  20. I fitted some alloys I recently refurbished myself.
  21. It looks mint. Very nice 👍 mine is a version 3 wrx Is it your first classic?
  22. Tidgy makes a good point my 96 wrx idled bad due to a wire being chewed through on the maf sensor. my legacy needed the idle control valve cleaned. It’s a start at least
  23. Hi guys I was just interested to find out how long I should leave my pfr6B plugs in before I should consider changing them. I believe they are meant to last longer but I’m interested to see what you think. thanks in advance
