  1. Ill chip in with top level go for Yokohama Parada, cheaper option Vredstein ultrac Sessanta. Great place for tyre info, it's all joe public reviews no trade so it's unbiased. You'd be surprised at just how bad some of the budget brands are in real life. http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/
  2. You could change the back box without getting decat centre pipe or down pipe, this wouldnt require a remap and would increase the noise. You will not get the burble of the older scoobs as this is down to the earlier models having unequal length manifolds, they where changed to equal length as this is better from a performance point of view. You can buy unequal headers and get the burble back, they cost a lot and would require either ceramic coating or exhaust wrap to reduce the heat and remapping as you have changed the breathing of the engine. Give www.scoobyworld.co.uk/ a call they do a full range of backboxes.
  3. no performace benifit just a whoosing noise when coming off the gas. As Gambit the top one is the HKS but they nare rare 2nd hand and expensive new. DO NOT buy a cheap copy from Ebay.
  4. I looked at Hankook but wasnt too impressed with the reviews seems wear is an issue, and thats not even having them on a performance car. Alos not many would buy again. http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Hankook/Ventus-Prime2.htm Vredstien Sessanta much better reviews for simlar price £4 more per corner. http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Vredestein/Ultrac-Sessanta.htm
  5. being picky I would get rid of Sainz and replace with Soleberg giving us the 3 scoobie champs. Or Just have Richard and Colin on thier own.
  6. And they showed what is prob one of the most impressive laps of the Ring.
  7. Tbh my Xbone is used just like the 360 play games and that's it. I don't use it for Netflix or Internet, blue ray or any of the other things. The voice control is hit an miss and doesn't always understand what you are saying. The motion control just makes you feel like a Pratt waving your arms around and thrusting your hands out. Oh it sounds good' controls like minority report, but in practice it is more hassle than fun. Maybe I'm just getting old :D
  8. If they do it properly they have a special pump which vacuums the air out and replaces it with nitrogen. They don't just put the tyre on and pump it up with nitrogen ala fith gear.
  9. Is it actually blowing there? It could just be the heatshield thats rotten not the actual pipes. It forms part of the header system. It's the right hand manifold It connects to an up pipe which goes to the turbo. The stock ones are multiple parts, but if that's really bad then the other side is likely to be as bad. They can be replaced with an all in one. You would need to either wrap it with exhaust wrap or get it ceramic coated to reduce the heat coming off it.
  10. Loud = Scooby worlds Afterburner range. Louder= HKS Super dragger Insanely Loud = Blitz Nur Spec http://www.scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog/index.php?cPath=24_53&osCsid=5135d7a4f0c2cafeee0a810530316121
  11. its a hill start mechenism that stops the car rolling back on a hill. not sure why it wouldn't disengage.
  12. I ran an HKS mushroom filter on my classic for years with no issues. I did remove the backing plate from the vent on the bonnet to allow for heat dissipation and better cool airflow to the filter.
  13. That's easy it was built end of 97 and was sold the next year before July so registered as an 98 R plate. The year for "R" reg ran from July 97 to August 98. So it's a MY97 :)
  14. Think I paid £92 per corner. Get them delivered then fitted by local ATS or kick fit. Ask for nitrogen instead of air. Nitrogen is an inert gas so does not expand and contract with temp. Means your tyre pressure is constant.
  15. Find the tyres you are interested in and look them up on that site. It's reviews by the public not the trade.
  16. I'm running vredestein ultrac sessanta which are really good. In the past I've had Toyo proxies fantastic grip but too soft and wore out quickly. As we said at the show, the things you don't want to scrimp on is brakes and tyres. http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/
  17. Well I used the hatch then went into the 2011 Sti, the 2011 was much firmer and had less under steer. Felt it was able to handle direction changes much better and was easier to hit the point you were aiming for. The hatch felt it was more of a chuck it in and power slide out, had an awful lot of that. Will give it another go in a bit see if it is just me.
  18. With the Hatch it just seems that weight transfer is a bit extreme and induces under steer, was running laps on Suzuka.
  19. I don't think I can make tonight. Just done some laps in the a few of the cars and they are deffinatley better. The hatch does seem to be a bit wayward compared to the others though, it seems softer with a lot more body roll and understeer than the others.
  20. Welcome to the club. Take some before and after pics when you give it a clean. We all like a good gander :)
