  1. Depending on your journey. Town driving without booting it all the time I can get about 21mpg, motorway that goes up to 26mpg I think been a while since I did a long motorway journey. A full tank for me is about £75. That will last me just over 230 miles town driving. Seeing as kne is an STI I can't see you having a prob with 200. Miles for £50. Just keep a jerry can handy :)
  2. Washed, polished, protected and waxed. Started at 10 finished about 6. Started of sorting a few scratches out with G3 scratch remover. Bilt Hamber snow foam, Autoglym shampoo & Bilt Hamber auto wheel cleaner. Can't beat a good Chamois leather. Autoglym polish Autoglym super gloss protector G3 wax. Spent half much of each stage making sure I'd got all the polish and wax out of the shut lines and where the bumpers meet the body. Just aswell I've got about 15 microfibre clothes :). My back is killing me!!
  3. Get wheels of the grounD give them a good tug, shake and wobble. Any play will be down to worn bushes.
  4. Ah I reckon it's warped discs then, if you haven't replaced them.
  5. To me that normally indicates wheels out of balance, but as you've had them balanced the next thing I would check would be all the bushes for wear and tear.
  6. Welcome to the club pretty sure that someone will know the answer. Pics would be good we all like a bit of an ogle now and then :)
  7. Agree with the gimp :p check the switch 1st.
  8. Surely the dealer who took the car in for sale did an HPI check? We used to check all 2nd hand cars when I worked for a rover dealership back in the day.
  9. lucky escape by the sound of it.
  10. heres thier facebook page. Might be worth getting in touch to see if they have any record of work done. https://www.facebook.com/bhp.developments
  11. Welcome to the mad house.
  12. Get some Bilt Hamber auto wheel cleaner, it's the best stuff I've ever used. http://www.bilthamber.com/auto-wheel-1 This is me cleaning my wheels.
  13. There's is nothing wrong with the central locking. The key and opening doors is a nightmare. In their infinite wisdom Subaru decided to make the central locking a two stage process. You have to press the button a 2nd time as soon as the indicator has stopped it's flash. There's is a knack to it, if you are too early ie when the indicator is still on, it will lock itself again. If you are too late with the 2nd press after the indicator has gone off it will lock itself again. After 14 months of ownership I still haven't mastered it. You can't reprogram it either, I contacted Subaru when I 1st got the car. As I thought it was faulty aswell.
  14. It worth it, however you'll need an ECU remap and friendly mot tester. I get a bit of grief for gold wheels on a black car
  15. Agree breakers is your best bet, prob need to get it reps rayed but it will be a hell of a lot cheaper than a dealer. Try South East Imprezas 07891129485 he generally breaks Classics, but does get later models from time to time.
  16. Welcome along. Agree with Matt, only thing puts me off is the wheels. Still it's not my car so who gives a toss what I think :)
  17. No ones mentioned Mapping yet. This ca cost from between £300-500 depending on if the car has been mapped previously. If it hasn't been mapped then you will be looking at the £500 as you will need to pay for the ecu licence. The most you could do without mapping for power mods imho is upgrade to a pannel filter. Any mods espec induction kits, Fuel pumps, injectors, coil packs or exhaust will require a remap as you will changing the air fuel ratios so will reqiuire a remap.
  18. Got my tickets this morning :)
  19. Take another bite of the apple you know it makes sense :) Proud to say there is not one bit of Samsung kit in my house. That's to do with a South London football club more than not liking the products :)
  20. Haynes don't do manuals for Subaru. IM never gave Haynes Models to tear down :( Only resources are work shop manuals available as PDF files from the links shown.
  21. If you live near someone with the same car you could swap over ECU's and take it for a drive see if the fault replicates with the 2nd "good" ECU.
  22. Doesn't their profile pics kind of give it away?
  23. Good news lets hope it all gets sorted to your satisfaction.
  24. It's a flexible piece of plastic, you could use blue tack, double sided sticky tape, elastic bands. Basicly however you want, You could punch screw holes in them and screw them on swapping the plates over. I'm just going to stick them to my real plate with double sided tape so I can easily pull them off when leaving the show.
