Pigman's family estate
You could always get a couple bottles of octane booster and add it to the tank when you fill up, Failing that I'd brim the car before getting on the boat and just take it easy when over there, you'll notice a difference in performance for sure

Help Check Guide Buying 1st Subaru
Mine slaps from cold all the time until the oil is up to full operating temprature, it's a bad piston skirt design that's to blame (was rectified on other years) but due to the lay out of the engine most of us suffer a little slap when it gets colder out, It sounds like a high pitched metallic clapping, if it's a dull thud or an irregular nose then it's probably knocking as opposed to slap, A good map won't cure it, as it's only when the pistons have contracted slightly and don't 'fill' the bores like they do when warm. As for the shock are you still looking at the forester ? Or am I confused? 90%of foz's have sls suspension which dies and leaves you with saggy !Removed! syndrome, looks a bit like a dog sitting on its rear when the car is stationary, You can grab the rear arch and lift up, assuming it's not full of rust, to unload the suspension, if it drops loads when you let go the shock is dead,

What have you done to your Subaru today ?
This one's a two port and my plan is just for the crank, i'm going to retain the pcv (have new one to go in aswell) I was going to insert can between the y section on the turbo side, and run it through there, then back it the intake, For this reason I've ordered a load of stock replacment Cafnk/pcv hoses incase I balls it right up, Is the pcv under the tb on the v3 ? Not taken it all apart yet ad nedx to get moving house sorted

Water sloshing behind dashboard
Only thing I can think of is the drain channels on the sills are blocked ? Do you have a sun roof ?

When changing gaskets, and the engine is open, what else to do?
Personally I'd steer clear of something that cheap, last thing you'd want is for it to fail then spend more money on pulling it all apart and starting again

With regards to the downpipe bolt, there are only a few and there 3? I think studs with no head on at all so there's a chance you've not sheared anything off

Romraider help.......
Which figures are you concerned by ? If it's the knock, it isn't a great deal, didn't you have it on the dyno a few weeks back with a map tweak ? If it was knocking outside what's acceptable he would have stopped the map, Remember the knock sensor picks up exernal noise to a degree. I see a couple of degrees of retardation on my monitor but it's not an issue

Hello & welcome, Esl board is the only way to map these unless you go for a standalone apexi & commander, Good bit of kit I have one on my car, depending on what the previous owner asked for it does Twin maps Maf less option Anti lag Launch It open source so if your feeling brave enough you can alter the map yourself although I wouldn't recomend it unless you know your onions As for mappers you'd have to speak with someone like Andy forrest or Duncan graham, Bob rawle, or Andy Carr. Richard Henry motorsport in Bradford use bob but it's live mapping on the road, Duncan graham travels all over did mine at GR performance in rotherham, but of you want one of the very best a trip north of the border to Andy forrest

How are you guys finding the XV ?
You have to be winding a fair bit of lock on for it to re engage, it will ignore small slip angles but after a certain point it's like whoah ! What are you up to, engage vdc
