  2. Hi everyone I was just wandering if anyone could give me some advice? I have a 2015 1.6gt levorg. I live in Northern Ireland and the parts are very limited. I have to order and it takes forever to arrive or the prices are just wild. Does anyone know if any of the other subaru models fit my car? I have a but of road noise and think I need a wheel bearing my local parts dealer is looking 270£ for one🫣 so if anyone can help it would be great 👍🏻 thanks
  3. Thought to speak up about this problem that I sorted. It was daunting as in the old days I would clear it with a poke, or blow it. On my 2010 Forester, and many others its not that simple, and when I looked into it, the wipers had to come off, the panel under the windscreen to get to the back of the jets, and then the word was to replace them. Anyhow all that dismantling was easier than I imagined, just get on with it, and then pull the jets off the pipes and blow through to look for blockages, just with mouth at first, though watch out for the bad taste, find a way to not get the antifreeze on your lips. In my case it was the non return valves playing up, and they dont appear to be dismantle able, so I ordered some generic ones off ebay cheap. In the meanwhile I re assembled with horticultural irrigation pipe joiners that I had laying around. Effectively bypassing the idea of non return valves. Now they work perfectly. If a bit strong. Maybe the non return valves were also sort of regulating the flow somewhat. I dont have any noticeable delay before the jets start squirting. Any comments on this fix welcome, and hope it helps anyone in the same fix.
  4. I like the traction, its amazing. Reasonable enough ground clearance. For towing in hills and mud I would have liked low range. It is very torquey and yet fast and economical. Potential repair bills and or reduced to scrap value is scary as I cant see anything reasonable for less than 5K and then maybe its got a fairly short life, thats a huge asset loss, and the calculations around that may well indicate its better to get something older, cheaper, with higher residual value if something goes wrong or it may be cheaper to repair. Its a delightful car and so far been economical to own. The **** will hit the fan at some point though.

  7. For some years I have driven Subarus on closed roads (Response driver for the Isle of Man TT races), my favourite was a Forester with a 2.5 Turbo Police pursuit engine, great fun! One year they gave me an XV and I hated it. The battery kept going flat and it was slow and lumpy. The Subaru engineer who was on the Island to fettle the response cars said it was a common problem, and suggested every night I should connect a battery charger. Needless to say, the following year I made sure someone else got the XV!
  8. Hi, new here, ive got a 2003 forester 2.0X which im trying to change the rear wheel bearing. Unfortunately it was all seized and the garage applied so much pressure to get the bearing out that all the assembly shattered! So I am now trying to find the parts needed. I require the rear wheel hub nearside, can anyone confirm that the part number 28469fe000 is correct? And that it is the same as the impreza and legacy? also i bought a pair of used driveshafts for a 2.5, as the seller claimed they were identical. Upon receiving them they are slightly different, would these still work and are both offside and nearside identical? had to buy a knuckle from main dealer and reluctant to spend another £700 for these parts from them! thank you, William
  9. Afraid im from farther oop narth, so not really sure whos good down that way :S
  10. Subaru XV 18" spacesaver wheel (2022) (from the Wheel Shop) new in January 2024 never used £110 if collected. No longer have the XV, swapped for a Levorg, although 18" rims has different PCD.
  11. I have pair of original factory fitted Bug-eye lights unused and in as new condition. Had Momo headlights installed at time of purchase. Boxed and stored in garage. If you are still looking can send photos Kind regards Ernie
  12. Hello, I'm curious if anyone on here has done any restoration on the rockers and wheel wells. I am struggling a lot to find correct measurements because there's not a whole lot of good metal left in those areas and as such I stupidly cut them out before taking measurements. If possible I would love to maybe see some photos of some of the things you guys have done and maybe be able to answer some questions if I might need it later lol!
  13. Both fobs not working on 2012 Forester and both batteries changed. Any help appreciated

  15. Prob need to drop the oil and see what it looks like, after that compression/leakdown test, then go from there. doesn't sound promising though.
  16. Thanks for your reply Tom. Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, I’ve been out of the country on holiday and only got back last night. I am asking for £2450. You are right, it looks the business and really belongs on an Impreza but the person who bought it had other plans.
  17. Hi, Nice to meet you all. Im hoping this group is still relatively alive as I havent seen many posts come up. Although its not strictly a subaru, it is! Im currently building an old 70s kit car - but subaru style. It is full 2005 wiring / engine etc and ive got it cranking (no fuel line connected to build a little oil pressure). Anyway, Im at the point of getting hold of the charcoal canister and connecting the rats nest of rubber lines. Ive worked on MANY bmws but this is my first Subaru and it just seems like someone had a rubber hose budget. Does anyone fancy giving me a mornings assistance in Scunthorpe - there will be beers or a take away or something in it for you and the chance to see what I'd definately class as an impossible project formally described as a puzzle, in the dark with no box!.. My colleague calls it Frank! (enstein) Its just one of those things i want to accomplish for me and my little boy and bar one very helpful seller of parts, EVERYTHING is self taught on the drive! If i had stripped the engine etc out, this would be easy as is have a reference point but right now i dont. If youre interested in having a bru, a giggle and laughing at me, chuck me a message and we can organise something. The plan is eventually to get to some car shows and meet up with various groups 🙂 Cheers Steve

  21. I bought my Subaru XV today and it came with yoko’s on it already. Need replacing so and not sure what to buy as a replacement. Something with good tread would be great without compromising things like rubbing etc
  22. Hi guys and gals i picked up my Subaru XV 2.0 petrol , auto, today, after a long bus and train journey down to derby from my home in the Scottish Borders. After a week of organising, I got to see it in person for the first time and I was not disappointed. Everything I hoped for and more. I got to drive it four hours home to get use to the car and buttons. Now my brain is turning to accessories and how to make it look cooler than it already does…..any tips or advice for the best places to buy stuff would be appreciated. Already read a few areas on the forum, looking for inspiration…..but any advice on websites, or good upgrades would be appreciated. Dave
  23. I believe it will be drive by wire rather than cable so could be the throttle position sensor, def need to get it looked at.
  24. My 2006 forester has a weird knocking sound when I'm on full steering lock. I took it into a Subaru dealer and they said it was the power steering and was totally normal. It never used to have this problem so I was wondering if anyone knows what I should do about it. Also where's a good place to source parts? My cd player and fog lights don't work and need replacing.
  25. Just had all of my glowplugs replaced for 1500 on my 2015 Forester which didn't help. Then they changed the control unit for the glowplugs.. only to start getting the errors for plugs again a month later. Had a few replaced only 2 years earlier. I only drive 10k a year. Any ideas what might be causing this to renew constantly?
  26. All remaining items are being recycled with scrap man. No other parts available.
