So tore the car apart today. Ripped the back seats out, checked the fuel pump, guessing it hasn't been done by the looks of things!

What do you guys reckon on this FPR? Was sold it as a Sard, but that doesn't look like a Sard to me? Unless I'm looking at the wrong thing? But I was under the impression that was where it should be?

Also did the intake silencer delete! It really does open up the turbo noise and bypass valve. Much nicer and you can definitely hear a lot more sound from everything. Checked the filter whilst I was at it? Not sure what it is? Any ideas? Might just be stock...shame if it is.

Lastly, checked out the exhaust underneath. Definitely stock from cat upwards, just have no idea on the size of it! Any ideas? My fat **** couldn't really get under it very well and I didn't want to risk going completely under with no one else around (only had a trolley jack). It looks to me like 3" down to 2.5" for the connections then back up to 3" and then swelling to maybe 3.5" or so throughout the catback? The backbox tip is a whopping 4.5"! If it's the 3" to 2.5" back to 3" what should I be looking for to buy long decat downpipe wise?

Recommendations to clean it?

For the time you would spend cleaning it and the cost of a Cosworth filter I would replace it - actually thinking about not sure you can clean the Cossie ones.

The FPR does not look like a SARD - however have you got a higher shot of your bay as it may somewhere else (unlikely though as it would stand out)

Looks like on a quick google search that cosworth ones you throw away like OEM ones. Might be time to upgrade. No I didn't think it looked like a Sard FPR either...IMG_2993.JPG.6623815037e5b9babdbaf3fc4f6ba12b.JPG

in agreement with Fuel pump? That looks OEM to me haha. Any thoughts to that exhaust?

Nope I'm not seeing a Sard either...unless it's been mounted someplace else, but I would have no idea where. Just double checked the advert and it definitely says Sard FPR, this is the photo from them, still don't see it.

Is that the link piece in the link? Never heard of that before? Edit: scratch that, just read it 😂 Select 2.5" as that's what the flange is. So looks like it's what I'm on about 3" into 2.5" flange then back to 3" (except that's one piece obviously so it's 3" to 2.5" then goes to 2.5" to 3" on the rear cat back section).

Started a big part of my performance mod project today and made a good bit of progress... started with the fuel pump first as wanted to know the new one was running fine before stripping out the engine bay which all went smoothly then progressed to dismantle and remove any big parts restricting access then began dismantling pipes and cables and labelled them up as I've been going along so I know what they are all for when it comes to rebuilding.

Drained out the coolant and removed the rad and front bumper then dismantled the timing belt assembly and water pump and stopped at tea time as want a new thermostat o-ring so going to just get a full new thermostat tomorrow morning.

Also debating removing the aircon rad and piping too as I don't use it much and the rad looks tired and has the reminisce of a bird imprinted on it

Looks like we had kinda similar days pulling out rear seats! Haha. How was the pump install? I'm picking one up this week, probably Walbro though.

The pump install was pretty straight forward just be ready with a few rags to catch all the fuel that comes !Removed! out the pressurised line as there is quite a lot.

This video here is good for pump installs if you get stuck with anything although he just changes his for a new full oem unit already built up which must have cost a pretty penny.

Sound. Am picking up a Walbro this week. Just ordered some fog covers from the States. They aren't OE, but for $30 painted and come with stickers it's not a bad deal.

Edit: pump ordered

Today's work... new thermostat arrived so I could get the water pump back in then lined up the timing belt and got that reassembled.
Removed the exhaust and decided to get rid of the aircon as it was looking tired.

Spent the rest of the day battling getting the inlet manifold out then to end the day put in the uprated spark plugs, so little room to work with to get them buggers in 18403524_10155044932307631_3152902511440500981_n.thumb.jpg.9c4df2eaea6472f2a728f015550bcac0.jpg18342293_10155044932327631_8913960411876092548_n.thumb.jpg.ddf877630785fb01be60e596accb709a.jpg18424121_10155044932332631_1839151498478537631_n.thumb.jpg.81380b6f16342c3d97071e61e31c956f.jpg18342215_10155044932337631_4122731281447445005_n.thumb.jpg.a8ffd7b2d40b0d545eb873eedea84a62.jpg18342802_10155044932417631_8532685486487561842_n.thumb.jpg.988db207c87192380813c0d4a5abe661.jpg

This video came to my mind today while trying to get to a few troublesome bolts...  I didn't let them win though :D

Day3 progress from yesterday, fitted the uprated fuel injectors and 3port boost solenoid then sorted out the wiring loom on the inlet manifold. Afternoons job was getting the exhaust headers, up-pipe, down pipe and turbo off - every single bolt was seized and needed heat to get off which was a pain but no broken studs or threads which I was relieved for. Got the ported wrapped headers and decat up-pipe on then swapped the turbo out for the new better vf35 and got the decat down pipe on. Finished the night by fitting the Cobra  Race exhaust.

Looking good! Doing loads of work mate! What you doing with the old turbo? How about the decat! 😬

Ordered a HKS intake today 😊

Going to sell the turbo as it's still in really good condition, I used the 3" decat in the end as it was a perfect fit which saved me a tonne on buying another new

Nice. I'm still on the quest to find one...

Will have a Zero Sports intake pipe for sale shortly if anyone is interested. 😊

Gave the outside of the car a quick wash over, went to go grab the extension cord to hoover quickly from in the shed and there's a massive !Removed! wasp nest in there!
