  1. I had a really powerful dremel with cutting disc... wonder if that sort of thing would work? Lent it to my brother years ago and i've never seen it again
  2. I'd rather do it myself... just sods law that it had to be this time of year... from now on I'll make sure to change this sort of stuff myself in the summer, even if it's a little early!!
  3. Don't use K&N as they are oiled, which can potentially foul the MAF... go with a dry type like a Cosworth or Pipercross (I'm using a pipercross and it's good)
  4. Yup... 4-5 hours labour to do disks, pads, lines and exhaust... :/
  5. I have this one, fantastic BOV, sounds cool and is adjustable from 100% recirc to 100% atmo (going 100% atmo can cause lumpy gear changes due to running very rich briefly) i have mine at around 95% atmo and have no lumpiness http://www.scoobyparts.com/performance/gfb-tuning-products/gfb-respons-tms-bov
  6. hahaha!! Unfortunately I don't have a heat gun, and it was around 1 degree when i was trying to do it!! If I could hold off until warmer weather I would but unfortunately I've only got about a bawhair worth of pad material left on the fronts. One of the bolts on the end of my downpipe has broken as well, the bolt doesn't have a head nor is there a nut on the other end... it's just a threaded piece of metal, holding my exhaust together with rust and determination
  7. Disks and pads are getting done at the same time, just annoyed that I could not for the life of me get the caliper bolts off myself :/
  8. Quiet excited for tomorrow, 3rd cat in my exhaust is going bye bye!! Also looking forward to seeing how braided brake lines feel :D
  9. If I had the cash... I would snap these up!!
  10. It really does sound like the immobiliser... have you tried pressing the button on the fob when the ignition is on, then tried to start it?
  11. I very near bought a corsa VXR but ended up with a Scoob. Glad I did!! Welcome to the club :D
  12. Possible issue with the wastegate on the turbo would be my guess... but I could be wrong!!
  13. Yeh that temperature is absolutely fine :D
  14. Welcome to the club! You should start a build thread if you're planning on doing a lot of work :D
  15. A good coating of hard wax makes the cleaning process a lot easier :D
  16. Very nice looking car... always nice to see another black Scoob :D
  17. hahaha!! Thankfully there is nothing wrong with them, just need new discs and pads fitted... getting braided hoses fitted too, unfortunately the caliper bolts were very rusty and it was 1 degree when i was trying to crack them... they just weren't for budging.
  18. Car is booked in to get all my brakes sorted and get my cat pipe replaced, annoyed I couldn't do it myself, at least I tried!
  19. Well, tried to do a couple of jobs today and completely failed! Bolts on my calipers were not for budging... think it was a bit too cold today. Tried to change the cat pipe in my car as well, one of the bolts was rusted solid but the odd thing, there wasn't much of a bolt left on the other side! All that was left was part of the bolt that had the thread on it, that was it!! No nut, no head on the bolt... was being held in place by rust! Just going to get my garage to do it as i can't wait until the Spring as there is very little meat left on my pads!
  20. Perfect! Thanks!
  21. Going to be replacing all discs, pads and brake lines this weekend so will be removing almost all the brake fluid before I start. How much will I need to completely refill the system including loss of some due to bleeding? Will 1 litre be enough?
  22. Either that or there are plenty of up-pipes from STI's on ebay. What part do you mean when you say front pipe? Is that another name for the downpipe? Would you want decat or sports cat?
  23. New brake discs and pads arrived... ordered some braided brake lines as well, thot I might as well upgrade my brake lines since I'll have all the brakes apart :D
  24. Happy new year!
  25. Just bought myself a cat pipe to remove the third cat in my exhaust.... oh and Happy New Year! I'm stuck at work until 7AM, the joys!!
