Sounds electrical - What about the immobiliser - could that have gone faulty? Also have you checked for a spark?

Several people have had it done under warranty but it did depend on service history being complete etc - did he have the ECU update completed?

As you were rear ended check the petrol pump is working - the connection may have been jarred loose?

Nightmare - the only positive thing I can think of to say is that, as with Ash and his lump, once it is sorted you know you now have a good solid point from which to keep maintaining and have peace of mind. sorry its going be a bit of a poo sandwich in the interim :(

you could also try some paint renovator I used the autoglym stuff on mine - try a small area first though ;) http://www.autoglym-online.co.uk/product/autoglym-paint-renovator/

You may have an uprated higher flow fuel pump as part of a PPP kit - it does vary between models
