  1. Does connecting the red wire to earth sound the horn? if so that is your two connections one to the red wire and one to an earth- the single lead horn buttons have metal cases to earth / close the circuit
  2. Wotcha and welcome Matt - interested parties, like yourself, always help drive things forward :)
  3. That's very true - its a two way street - only as good as the contribution made by the members ;)
  4. yup echo that check for leaks
  5. Hey the only embarrassment should be from the armchair spectators - you're putting it out there, respect, although if you get duffed up by a punto - bearing in mind we have already seen a Samber can ghost them - you will have some explaining to do :P enjoy yourself ;)
  6. looking good - as said before an RFRB grill would set those off - you'll have to keep an eye out for a sensibly priced one
  7. sorry - I dont, I know Subaru called them Lusteric Silver but some finishes were darker than others even from the factory. I struggled to find a paint code though and when I saw the chrome type finish offered you could see how the shade would vary due to the over spray process involved (it is black paint sprayed over with silver partially allowing the black to show through) - so hard to get it even - it works fine on narrow spokes but the wide spokes these have it would not have produced a great result - hence opting for the Anthracite Those rims do look awesome though!
  8. its not the best example for sure
  9. depends how much you like the car, you will not get a great px with the work that needs to be done. here is the discussion thread with Bouncer - it may be of use http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/topic/2690-head-gasket-prices-for-wrx/
  10. made by Enkei - great alloys not a great finish watch for surface corrosion on the inside and the lacquer lifting on the outside ;)
  11. There is always ebay as well - lots of wheels advertised there what wheels do you have currently? as a refurb in a different colour may set the car off how you desire
  12. These are your wheel measurements 17" or 18" - 18x8.5 j, offset 55 (2.17). P.C.D 114.3 (4.50) 5 stud so any wheel matching that should fit, these chaps came up with 718 options if you plug in your car model www.performancealloys.com Bodykits... Something a little subtle http://www.body-kit.com/subarugtv.html Chargespeed do some more radical kits http://www.chargespeedusa.com/#/landing/subaru_body_kits/ Widebody JP style http://www.varis.co.jp/varis/bodykit/subaru/impreza/wide_grb/index.html Something a little more local http://www.imexdesigns.co.uk/subaru carbon fibre products http://jpcarbon.com/Subaru-ImprezaWRX-STI-2008-2011-Carbon-Fiber-Hood-Scoop-P2089122.aspx
  13. Wotcha and welcome depends what you are looking for, body work, engine parts, ICE, interior?
  14. All in the name of research and development - I'd buy that :D
  15. I'd hardly consider that a waste more of a servicing charge ;)
  16. you are probably sorting a product error for H&R angle for a kick back ;)
  17. oh dear, oh dear.... :D so this is what I wasted money on - unclear listing meant I ordered the wrong size - have had a 50% refund as I ordered the correct ones so I suppose I have some spares... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200970532046?var=500190068191&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
  18. that is a bargain to someone with a little bit of know how
  19. sounds like you have a result on the way - good to hear, useful to be working where you are :)
  20. mod your existing springs, if you have the originals you can get the angle from them so it shouldnt be a botch job, take your time it will be fine
  21. the Subaru has clearly made its mark - echo the above lets see some photo's :)
  22. not sure I do - the mapping is where the expertise and - previously highlighted - probably where the majority of cost goes into. ESL provides a product that can be plugged in and then tweaked to suit the individual car because they cover both aspects- that means you can take your car once fitted and have it set up. Having the board on its own you are then reliant on a tuner having the baseline map to use on the chip - ESL appear to have this, ECUTek is an example for later models but again is subject to a license fee. Where would a tuner get the baseline maps to apply to your chip - if they end up going to ESL there will be a licence cost and possibly an annoyed supplier but they could recognise the value in the financial opportunity afforded by the sale of the code (a la ECUTek licensing). If you have a product, however good or value for money it is, if it is hard for the consumer to use / apply you will not sell any. So whilst I dont want you to take this as me trying to put you off your idea - in fact I did consider suggesting a JV investment in research, the product needs a more rounded / complete solution to the board itself.
  23. You should have no problem then - in the long term you could still check with breakers and see if they have anything come in if you are not happy with the finished product
  24. in a nutshell - its not the tool its what you do with it - having a pentium chip does not a computer make. The idea of replicating this board is a good one particularly as there would be possible import taxes on the ESL item (dont know where the base is) however dependant where you are in the country sourcing one and say spending some time with an experienced mapper and a rolling road you could build up some baseline maps and then you have a full solution not just a circuit board - that would then give you a potentially larger margin which in turn enables reinvestment in further development
