  1. Just got back from Prodrive. Was a fantastic gathering with all models represented. WR1's' P1's, 22B's, RB320's classics, hawks, blobs and bugs everywhere. Must have been about 300 cars of not more. Believe it or not mine was the only Hatch STI there apart from Salsa but he's a 330s and 2 WRX' There were at least half a dozen 2014 STI's, they get better each time you see them. Was great to meet up with Salsa King, you car is stunning in RL. Didn't take any photos, loads from Surrey Scoobies were taking pics so I said I will cut and paste theirs :)
  2. I had one on my classic, might have got it from ebay as I'm a cheapskate :) no issues with it except fitting it was a bugger and I had to use screw drivers and welding wire to man handle the bottom spring in place.
  3. Washed the car ready for Prodrive, and bought a no spill dog bowl for use in the car :)
  4. When I took the pics for the overlays yesterday I put the show plates on. This morning I just went to the shops and had forgetten to take the show plate off. Lucky there were no police about
  5. Look great, I would recommend a detango though, swap the front and side indicators for clear ones :) really lifts the car.
  6. So who is actually going on Sunday? I'm looking to get there for about 10 hopefully get somewhere to park.
  7. What I did was get the main part done over the bumps and curves and I left about an inch unstuck from the edge of the light. Then in small sections (about an hands width) I heated and stretched it out towards the edges and used the squeegee to push out towards the edge and fold the vinyl down behind the light. Last thing I did was to give the whole thing a blow over with the hair dryer which seemed to shrink it back a bit for a really good fit. The only place I really had trouble with was the bottom corner of the large light above the wheel arch. Not really happy that I got enough bleed tucked behind it. I was quite lucky in that I was able to get most of the vinyl tucked down behind the lights and didn't need to cut too much off. Also where the soap solution dried on the inside of the vinyl has left a cple of smears on the inside. Weirdly I found the 1st side easier to do than the 2nd one and also easier than the 1st time I tired a few months ago.
  8. You mean the rebel logo :D
  9. Put the red overlays on the rear light clusters. Next plan is to get the wing mirror A pillar triangle thing dipped with a gold carbon. Then I may do the front grill surround and rear spoiler done the same. Before. After. This is kind of the effect I want from the dip.
  10. Got one side done. So much easier with a hair dryer. Took about an 1 1/2 a side. Much easier using a hair dryer and even being in the sun helped to keep the vinyl supple. Before. After. Yes it does need a clean
  11. Quick heads up if anyone was planning on taking the dog. Prodrive have advised not to bring dogs as they have mating swans on site and the male is pretty aggressive so best to leave dogs at home.
  12. Welcome to the club :)
  13. Same as the classic remove rear seat both parts. Then you can lift the rear parcel shelf up by the middle as you need it to bend a bit to pull it out from under the c pillar trim. I replaced the stock speakers with 16x9's with very little trouble, I had to cut the holes in the shelf a little bit larger just and drill new holes. The parcel shelf when stright back on using the factory grills so it was completely hidden.
  14. Also make sure you ask them to assign a new "number" to the key and car so the old key won't work.
  15. Yeah I'm thinkng about going. Being free it would be silly not too.
  16. Hopefully :) Will be attempting this during the week.
  17. Type RA and Prodrive have organised a meet at Prodrive in Banbury Oxford. It's free for subarus and more details can be found here. http://www.type-ra.com/subaru-forum/threads/prodrive-30th-final-gathering-8th-june-2014.17347/

  19. Salsa they have provided much more bleed this time. This is the new on top of the old.
  20. Might be worth getting on to the ombudsman anyway to see if they can help. I know if your hit by an uninsured driver there's a means of claiming.
  21. Looks good and the possibility of no ads is fantastic. I'm happy to donate and pay a membership fee :)
  22. If he is a business man then it's his responsibility to ensure his premises are properly insured and secure as far as possible. The keys should have been in a lock box at least. This is totally his responsibility and he is the one who should get you replacement keys, full stop! He wouldn't stand a chance in court, he has no leg to stand on. It's a shame he's a friend as the 1st thing I would be doing now is to start court proceedings. I would have though your insurance company whould pay out if you make the claim. Every time I leave my car at a workshop I leave the keys and it's business's responsibility. It's not your fault they keys were stolen and it's not your fault the business isn't coverd. I'd get on to the insurance ombudsman and see what they suggest. That or Dom
  23. I fitted the smaller n/s reverse and split the larger n/s one as I got halfway through fitting it. Didn't even try the o/s after that. Will be using a hair dryer rather than heat gun this time.
  24. Cheers Salsa, just got a set. I'm going to do the side I have a duplicate of 1st, so when I muck that up, I have a spare :)
