He only went and did it!!! Higgins. Full video
Just watched the whole thing and I am in awe, things that stick out, Kerbs it's so narrow. Bumps, he uses the bumps to set the car up for corners and his knowledge is of the course is unbelievable. I don't know my own road that well. It's a standard car, apart from suspension and mapping. Overall speed, it's 80% flat out. Looks harder than the Ring!

9 hours later, clean car.
Been mulling over a DA for awhile, now but as you say it's a minefield when it comes to DA pads and polishes. I think my next buy will be a 6mx3m pop up gazebo ala dent man tent so I can do work on the car when the weather is too hot or raining. £89.00 from argos. http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/6510745.htm

Looking for STI Hatch
My mates 08 Type UK had the same 17" wheels as Gary's weren't the 18" an option?

Silver is prob the best at masking dirt, then looking amazing when it's clean as you never think it's that dirty :D

New member saying Hi
Re the power steering pump. Mine had a leak and it was a cheap easy fix as it was a rubber o ring on the bottom of the pump where it sits in the block. Workshop manual download http://ken-gilbert.com/impreza-manuals It's really handy to have even though it's not comprehensive.

Looks good. Out of interest what DA where you using? You'd think white would show the dirt worse than black :( I washed mine last weekend and it looks a state already :(

Looking for STI Hatch
Nice one Gary from Nottingham :) Glad your pleased with it. As other have said get the map check out by some one like Jolly Green Monster or Andy Forrest, two of the best in the scooby world. Then get yourself down to Jap Fest 2 on the club stand, felt a bit lonely being the only hatch. Essential reading: Explains all about the centre diff and the I-Drive http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/topic/4392-i-drive-dccd-explained/ Any plans for mods? I've just gone cosmetic myself rather than power. No where near as far as Salsa King though :) Wheels are a must, those 17" weigh a ton and are too plain, you can liven up the steering with a set of lighter wheels. If you want to change the look of the car two things I would do is swap out the rear fog light for a clear version and maybe get the red overlays for the rear lights from Salsa King.

Forza 5
Yeah you can be clean all the way and a drivatar nudges you that the clean lap gone. They should include runoff areas that don't invalidate a lap and penalise for chicane and major corner cutting. Putting 2 wheels on the grass as you overtake or run a bit wide shouldn't kill the lap. Mind you we were saying the same about 4 :)

Good find, need to add £200 to re spray the wheels though :)

Forza 5
One thing I have found with 5 is the that the drivatars are a real pain on the 1st lap and friends are especially aggressive. As soon as you get past them into the lead then it's easy to pull out a massive gap. There's always one car that stays in-touch, the rest just fall away. Doesn't really seem to matter what difficulty level they are set to its always the same. Admittedly I haven't set it on the top level but I can easily beat professional if you don't get punted off on the 1st lap. My only other gripe is the level of damage on simulation. Even if you run in to the back of someone with the lightest of touches then thats your suspension, brakes, possibly drivetrain all damaged. So you end up counter steering the damage for the rest of the race. That for me is a bit overzealous. I just restart the race anyway. I reckon I restart at least 3 or 4 times each race.

Have you thought about insulting the Fmic pipe work? I've read that the longer pipes can suffer a 20 degree increase in temp from the front to the top of the pipe? http://www.heatshieldproducts.com/automotive/thermal-and-heat-shield-sleeving
