  1. Have you thought about insulting the Fmic pipe work? I've read that the longer pipes can suffer a 20 degree increase in temp from the front to the top of the pipe? http://www.heatshieldproducts.com/automotive/thermal-and-heat-shield-sleeving
  2. Welcome to the club, bet you have some great roads for driving the car, not like us southerners in the big smoke :(
  3. It easy to make it more exciting make sure they can overtake, put them in saloon and hatchbacks so they can over take whilst swapping paint and not wreck the car.... Hang on BTCC and WTCC already do that! F1 is not exciting and hasn't been since the late 80's early 90's The only way to make it more exciting is to level the playing field and make it a supplied engine and gearbox series like F3.
  4. I'm sure classic STI's were black as I had an upgrade to an STI ic on my classic and that was black aswell.
  5. Yeah I went and checked mine and its silver, it seems modern STI's are Silver and WRX's have always been Black. My Classic WRX was Black as was the Sti version I upgraded too.
  6. its all ITV's fault!!!!
  7. Yeah engine bay temps were mentioned on another forum, as well as weather. Also wouldn't the black one get heat soak quicker as it would absorb heat quicker than a silver one? You could go into so many levels on this, would the type off primer make a difference? It's acting as an insulating layer. Thickness of paint, type of paint, alternative coatings? Ie anodised, powder coated. Maybe we need the real Mythbusters to invesitage?
  8. Welcome to the club, hope you get the scooby smile when you drive it :)
  9. I don't think it's the no passion, it's more a psychological issue. The players are pretty much beaten in their own heads as soon as they go a goal down. When things don't work they panic and try to force things to happen. Also a major factor is we don't use gamesmanship as a standing tactic like everyone else does. We don't play act and writhe around as if shot, muck about with the ball when it's the oppositions free kick/throw in etc. We don't all clamour round the ref demanding bookings and whinging about stuff. It may be considered part of the game overseas but I for one am glad it's not part of ours. I also think the media has had an effect as normally there is so much pressure on the team the petulance starts to come out and players end up with silly bookings and sendings off. This time it's was " it's a young squad, we've got no chance, we won't win it" etc and I think that has played on the players minds and knocked the confidence of the younger players, would have been good if the was the euros and the World Cup was in 2 years as it's a character building experience for the younger players and it's a shame it's was on the biggest stage and not the smaller Euro one.
  10. Why not give you a chance for a decent drive back and enjoy the car :) only 700 mile round trip fly out to Dublin get train to Longford cple of tanks to drive back :D just get an independent mechanic to check it out 1st. Piston heads is a good place for cars worth checking regularly.

  12. All I got from that was it would help when sat in traffic, when the car is moving they perform the same as the cooling is governed by the airflow when over the IC. Has everyone forgotten that stock IC's are black anyway?
  13. No just a Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/southeastimprezas Best off just ringing Pete up.
  14. Pete at South East Imprezas 07891129485. Bought a few bits off him, very good rep with our local club and he specialises in creaking classic Impreza Turbos.
  15. Cut the head off then screw a suitable nut down the thread followed by a 2nd nut dome up tight to the 1st nut. then undo with the spanner on the 1st nut which locks against the 2nd nut and will undo the bolt. Also handy for Removing studs. Or if you want a handy workshop gadget then invest in a set of Irwin bolt grips. http://www.irwin.com/tools/screw-bolt-extractors/5-pc-bolt-grip-expansion-set

  18. Seen another build like this. Not to as higher standard though as he didn't do any body and paint work just the mechanicals. http://www.surreyscoobies.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=47453&highlight=Escort Was up for sale about 6k if I remember right.
  19. This new add with Aaron Paul is turning my Xbone on everytime it comes on! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-27827545 Anyone else getting this?
  20. Yeah sounds like there's no way to tell if it was an official PPP or a DIY job :(
  21. Is there no paperwork for the Prodrive Performance Pack? Might be worth contacting the original dealer and see if it was PPP'd. Might have been done originally and has since had bits changed.
