  2. You should have tried companies like Keith Micheals they spec in Subaru and tend to offer better deals than compare sites as the compare sites cheaper option tend to be a much higher excess and don't give all the bells and whistles.
  3. Welcome along, have you ever heard of Surrey Scoobies owners club?
  4. I've had my Depo gauge for installed for 2 years+ and not had any issues with it. I know quite a few memebers went with Depo and not heard of any issues from anyone. You sure they just weren't trying to sell you a more expensive unit, after all it's in their intrest to upswell you to silly price gauges. If you think these are hard to install then you should look at the Defi range, you can't just buy 1 gauge, you also have to have a seperate interface between the sensors and the guages. Installation is quite easy the hardest part is feeding the wires through the bulkhead and routing it through the back of the dash. Where abouts are you I'm sure someone local may be able to help you with the install.
  5. Great job a good days cleaning can be one of the most satisfying jobs on a car :)
  6. Scoobs are of course WR blue, even though I've had the slower silver and black colours, never had a blue one though.
  7. I had a B&M short shift on my classic, that was just a rejigged gear stick with the points of attachment adjust to create a shorter throw. It wasn't the best option but it did make a difference. After a while it became sloppy and kept jumping out the gear lever receiver. On my 08 Hatch I went for the more comprehensive Kartboy shifter which included replacement bushes and give a much more positive action. Down side is that the urethane bushes have increased the amount of noise the gearbox transmits to the body. But then it sounds more like a straight cut rally box lol. I got my Kartboy from AS Performance http://asperformance.com. Give them a call as they are very good and always willing to give top notch advice. Here is a link to a thread I posted with a video of the short shift installed. http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/topic/5625-kartboy-shortshift/?hl=%2Bkartboy+%2Bshort+%2Bshift
  8. Warped Discs. I had this on my Classic and after replacing the Discs everything was fine, they only have to be minutely warped for the brakes to judder.
  9. Nice write up, next I'd go for Morrettes and 'd get rid of the fog lights and swap for P1 fogs or get covers for them. But then I'm biased.
  10. So many guages to choose from. I've used Depo so would recommend those as a mid range brand. Don't cost the earth and do a wide range. This might solve all your problems. Depo Boost+ oil temp + oil pressure and volts. http://prolex-uk.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=469_530&products_id=1326
  11. The trader you linked to offers no quibble money back so I'd say go for it, if the fit is not good or you don't like the look after a trial fit then send it back.
  12. I would recommend http://www.bilthamber.com products great stuff good value.
  13. Thanks mate :) Depo gauges have multi light settings aswell, 8 diff colours, can change colour as you advance through the gauges range and they dim when you turn the lights on. Also a stepper system and they can be daisy chained if you go for multiple gauges.
  14. The Surrey meet is every 2nd Sunday of the month. The next one will be 11th of April. Not heard of any meets in the Herts area might be worth checking SIDC or Scabbynet :)
  15. Yeah had to loads of dremel work on it. It's not designed for the later model dashboards but it's still the best option for a single guague.Looking at yours it needs to come forward and sit tight up against the pillar. In my classic I filled the back half of the pod with expanding foam trimmed it down and then used bathroom silicone sealant to stick it in place. If you take it off the sealant can be cleaned off really easily. I've done this with this install as well but I didn't do a great job and it's come loose and is only being held in place by the wires. Doesn't rattle so haven't botherd the take the trim off to fix it.
  16. Depo Boost Gauge in pod. OBD reader displayed on Sat Nav via iphone.
  17. Wonder how many cops monitor the feed? Surrey scoobs has a cple of coppers who are members lol
