She's a big Bia-tch!
You'd have thought the Fleet Air arm would still have some Harriers in service as a temporary stop gap!! Or borrow some F-18's from the yanks :D

How much will a TS10 affect premiums?
My girlfriend has just got a TS10 and is worried her premium will go up by a massive amount. Shes had 3 speeding points in 2010 so they have now expired. is the premium likely to get hiked? cheers

Stuck OBD
It won't run the battery down over night. Mine doesn't seem to have any issues removing it. It pretty much the same as the older style scary connector. Maybe yours has a clip or something that locks it in and you need to press a small button to get it out? Pics of the reader in the connector would help also a pic of the odb you bought may shed some light.

No longer avaliable* Cosworth Panel Filter for Impreza WRX Hatch
No they aren't reusable, the reusable ones are a foam type construction similar to mushroom filters and use a light machine oil to trap the particles, you can wash them out and then spray a light coat of oil back on them so they don't lose performance. The cosworth filter is a similar construction to the stock yellow fibre type. They use a much finer weave than the stock ones and have a larger surface area to improve the filters performance. They get gummed up over time and can't be washed out, so you have to replace them as part of the normal service routine.

Afterburner xtreme
Have you called Scoobyworld? They are very helpful.

Afterburner xtreme
They are legal, I ran an afterburmer Vortex for years on my classic, they sound awsome and can easily top over 100db. The sound does get to you after awhile on a long journey. Turbo back will be much louder than a cat back as you are removing the cat which also acts as a muffler.

Check out this thread as another GX owner asked a very similar question. http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/topic/13366-air-intake-something-missing-here/

Anyone changed from Blob/Bug to a Hatch?
Looks like a good motor price is a bit high, they were that sort of price when I bought my type UK 2 years ago, but it's very low mileage so I guess that offsets the higher £'s

Keep in mind a serviceable item and needs to be changed as per the service intervals. it will give a slight boost in performance. Ive been running one since my last service.

STI Hatch Intercooler (top mount) & Prodrive Gold Alloys
i would say it will also be different pipe work underneath, mounting brackets will be different as well. I believe this is a WRX engine bay (according to google images.) This is my STI engine bay totally different...

STI Hatch Intercooler (top mount) & Prodrive Gold Alloys
There's a list of breakers posted by gambit floating around somewhere. If you say gambit three times he should pop into the thread, he's a bit like Beetlejuice lol

STI Hatch Intercooler (top mount) & Prodrive Gold Alloys
best bet would be Breakers such as http://www.japperformanceparts.co.uk/ and http://www.gradea-subaru.co.uk/ not seen many 2nd hand parts sold privately for the Hatches.

WRX Hatch Mods Discussion
You could get a remap to account for the BOV although £400 extra just to get a whoosh is a bit overkill imho.

Air intake - something missing here?
I'm not an expert on the non turbo cars however it looks like the air filter box, maf sensor and snorkel has been removed, the snorkel is not that important however the maf and filter is. I would guess that they swapped over to a mushroom type filter at some point and haven't replaced it. It should look like this if stock. The large black box houses the air filter, connected to the box is the MAF (mass air flow sensor) hen the pipe works to the engine. In this pic although it's a legacy it shows the mushroom/pod filter instead of the stock air box and pipe work. Hopefully one of the more techy minded guys can advise on the pros and cons of a maf delete

What is this sealant type substance?
I just sealant to waterproof the seams after they were welded at the factory. I had exactly the same in my classic, pretty sure my hatch has it aswell, haven't looked to close as the hatch has everything covered up. The tar like stuff is what they seal the gap between the plastic of the light cluster and the body.

I finally got a Subaru!
Taking a test drive 1st in a scoob can be a bad idea, your instantly mesmerised by the power and scooby grin. I reckon we should all put them on a rap 1st and have a good look before driving them lol. Congrats with the purchase glad your getting it sorted and it sounds like you've got a mechanic who knows what he's doing with scoobs.

Under MONEY!Under current regs the flat four should be allowed as a 2ltr variant, I think it's more likley the stumbling block would be the AWD. There's enough debate over the parity between FWD and RWD cars as it is, adding AWD in to the mix would make it even more complicated. Plus the cost of developing a NGTC subaru would be far too much for a non factory based team, it would require Subaru themselves to get involved, and they haven't invested in Motorsport for nearly a decade. (The American team is an independent, the Nurberg endurance team is independant, as far as I know there is not factory support for any Suabru Motorsport teams.) The only successful AWD touring car was the super touring Audi's. Regs weren't quite so strict and teams got away with an awful lot of "interpretation" of the rules and regs. Other AWD touring cars like a Ford Mondeo and AWD Nissan Primera a were not as succeful, they were in Touring car series with much stricter regulations at the time. Common consensus is that AWD racing cars are not as good as their 2 wheel drive counterparts, and that AWD belongs on the rally stage not the track.
