  1. You need to show her how dog's coped with being attacked by a ford drom the rear and point out that in the event if a front end collision the layout of the boxer engine is better as it's not as tall as a conventional engine so will be less of an intrusion into the cabin
  2. Dont forget anti rattle clips/shims
  3. 2nd ebc discs and either green or redstuff pads maybe not geeen for the scoob. I'm looking at black diamond for the fronts next month though.
  4. Likely to be the front then, like pete says cooked discs. How new are they ?
  5. Or alignment or slightly buckled wheel, I rotated mine last month and had horrendous handling, but my rear alignment was so far out due to the fronts being wrong I had a an unworn shoulder of rubber that was the cause due to ub even ware
  6. The hardest thing I've seen is splitting the block and getting the wrist pins out. Yes mate, even rebuilt engines slap depending on components used, forged pistons will slap as they are built for abuse and road use doesn't get them as hot as fast. If I were you I'd just either save a bit of cash for each month or build up parts and run the engine until it goes pop (which could be a while) then re build,
  7. Its something i've never even seen so havent a clue, Do you have a multimeter ? May be worth getting hold of one if not
  8. Daft question How do you feel it ? Though the stering wheel or more through the body
  9. Whoop good news on the mot, what kind of exhaust do you have on ? it does seem about right for a proper build but, you may not even need a new crank. And like you say if funds aren't available not feasible. How good are you with a set of spanners ? Did they say what pistons they would use ?
  10. Phone off for one night, 45 updates from soc : O. Good luck with the surgery mate. Dog, at least that lass has 150 quids worth of scrap to go to wards next years premium, glad the damage to yours isn't substantial, what pug did you end up with ?
  11. Hi jack, Far short of stripping everything out and reducing weight, the only way to get more power is by putting some money Into it,
  12. Where did you purchase the cleaners from good sir ?
  13. No chance of the strip for me unless someone brings a spare clutch and tools haha. Gonna have to get my tent sorted. Last time I used it I forgot the poles. :O
  14. I'm sure youll be fine, as long as the pin outs are the same which I assume they will be should be ok, I guess your not planning to add any electric windows to it :-D
  15. Paid, weekend ticket :-D
  16. As far as im aware you in the same position as me, the ecu's from 97-98 can't be flashed easily you'd need to add on an esl board which fools the ecu and allows mapping, trouble is they aren't cheap around 300quid plus another sum on top for the map. Your best off trying to find another 8k ( I take it this is the sticker on the front ?) legacy ecu from ebay or subaru for sale sections. That way you should just be able to disconnect the battery swop out and be on your way again
  17. Pay by credit card ? If so speak to card issuer. Failing that does he live close ?
  18. Not sure, about removing the immobiliser would work as the key is chipped to work with it, Contact your subaru dealer they may be able to rr set it. Do you have the alarmanual ?
  19. Boo that's rubbish dog, hope all is ok, Booked mine in for a detailing day monday (more to point ive taken day off to do it)
  20. What year car is it installed in ?
  21. Can you get a clip of the sound ? No idea as to the cause but if you post up sound maybe someone will be able to pinpoint it
  22. You !Removed! ? Or talking in riddles
  23. How's things looking with paying and what not ?
  24. Did you try api ? They import engines as well as doing in house rebuilds. Jdm engines cover less miles in there lifetimes due to the fact that public transport in japan is superior and nearly everyone uses it, cars are mainly weekend use, If I'm correct in certain areas you have to have somewhere to keep the car before you own one due to space being limited and at a premium. The leases only last for x amount of years as well
  25. I havent a clue about the offsets and things, I know mine are 48, and 55's can cause issues with the rear struts on the foz, bit I'm running a 215 tyre, so if I got some 55s that arent as wide will I still be in the same situation with the rear struts ? Confused ! All this to acheive my remap goals hahah. And to add further cats amongst the pigeons someone told me my wheels will clear the 4pots with spacers ??
