1998 terzo impreza occasional loss of power and stalling HELP!!!
If it's a purple one you'll have to buy the whole lot @382 [emoji35] with other ones you can just buy the 'drop in' maf element. Most annoying

1998 terzo impreza occasional loss of power and stalling HELP!!!
No worries, a very no scientific way of testing the maf is to run the car till warm then pull the plug from the maf, it should stall straight away. if it continues to run then it's on it's way out

Horrendous noise
Anyone got any ideas ? Finished work drove to supermarket parked on a slight slope, went to start the car and it made the most horrendous screeching noise meatallic shearing sound when I turned the key. Obviously I stopped truning it over straight away checked everything over. No visible signs of anything Then re started fine, drove for another 2 miles all good. Seems strange that it's done it after an oil change or it's just pure co incidence, starter motor on way out ?

1998 terzo impreza occasional loss of power and stalling HELP!!!
Hi mate, welcome sorry to hear about your issues To see what fault codes are stored in the ecu this is a good start http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/index.php?/topic/2366-Manually-Reading-ECU-Codes The mpg figure does seem bad if even it it's over fueling I wouldn't expect it to drink that much. I'd check weather theres a leak anywhere, with regarde to cutting out does it do it when driving hard ?

Help with my impreza gearbox???
Hi mate, the imports have shorter gearing so won't work with uk diffs/driveshafts, so you'd need to find one that has the same ratios, not sure if there are uk boxes with the same as imports, best off asking savage on that one. Theres a guy in Hebden Bridge that does rebuilds & swaps ill see of I can find his number, if I remeber it was about £ 350. You been running round without a rear wing a couple of weeks ago ?

Forester exhaust
Hi mate welcome, There are a couple of options, any forester mid section up to 2004 should fit not sure about the back box. Classic impreza ones fit but require some welding to re position the hangers on the back box as the box is a slightly different shape and size, Heywood & scott do forester cat back systems but they are pricey, and finally powerflow can make you one at one of their franchises nationwide. Not sure about costing though. Or you could go the whole hog and get one custom made with new cats

Mapping a 3.0l outback?
Speak to simon at jolly green monster. I'm guessing it will be an ecutek licence & map so 350-500 quid. Should see a good increase in torque power and more miles to the gallon.
