Is a Subaru worth the running costs?
To be honest I've not found running a subaru as finally ruinous as any other car. Admittidly I'm not 20 anymore and I doubt I'd have managed to get insured at that age

What have you done to your Subaru today ?
Been hunting for a classic 18-20mm arb trip to dewsbury jap breakers turned out fairly productive just a shame the couldn't be arsed with lifting off the dead sport to get at what I think Is what I want

Dashcams, show us your view!
Haha even without the dashcam evidence, that's the worst excuse for a crash ever, what does you running into the person in front have to do with the person behind's stopping distance ? They should have seen the traffic further down the road was slowing and driven accordingly, that's the trouble with people they only look at the car directly in front.

Is a Subaru worth the running costs?
Or look at finding an import, avoid horrendous tax brackets [emoji51] I'm not sure but I think the jdm cars kept with the 2L engine as they prefer it

New blob eye wrx owner :)
Like sav says just about every car manufactured is set up with understeer, except maybeTVR there just wild, otherwise you'd see loads of old ladies entering hedges backwards at the nearest bend, Easiest was is to thicken the rear bar to make it more neutral, I've noticed since fitting the solid droplinks it wants to push more when getting on the gas mid corner, 4wd cars tend to do it more as you have two sets of driven wheels trying to push and pull you out of the corner, I'd suggest finding a nice private peice of paved land or track an experiment in lift off o/s and trail braking, learn how far you can push the car before something horrible happens, Weight transfer had a big part in entering corners at any speed so if your still not happy maybe look at a brake ballance controller, although I'm not sure how legal they are ?

Turbo blanket [emoji3] ever since I had the new exhaust put on I've had no heat shield as the ly didn't bother to modify the stock cover looking forward to a cooler engine bay now

Diy fuel pump change
Whether any of what I've been told is true is another matter, it left the factory with 237bhp so I think there maybe some truth in what he was telling me,
-
Diy fuel pump change
No only two pots but I've been told by a member over on the forester oc that the foz has bigger pistons than the wrx so up to 260 should be ok, he's since upgraded to 4's and says that the difference & effectiveness isn't that much. I'd have to go bigger wheels and what not

Diy fuel pump change
I know how you feel the bloke at the hand carwash attacked the scoop with the lance, spent all night re aligning the fins. I'll leave the injectors thanks as I'm old looking to get 260ish out of mine, I just want it running better, may send the 380's off for a clean when I've a spare week. I'm tempted by the cooler as I've got a set of silicone hoses on order, weather they'll actually arrive is another matter as I've been waiting since October I'll email again after Christmas see what's going on.

Diy fuel pump change
Upselling I like your style ! What's the difference between my ic and the sti one, apart from the pipework ? I have a feeling if I were to buy them he'd sit gathering dust for ages before I got mapped. Any idea what my 380's will max out at ?

Diy fuel pump change
Stop it ! Plan is to do the pump, get a new gearbox mount then hopefully map. How much are you wanting for them ? [emoji51]

Diy fuel pump change

Diy fuel pump change
Right thinking of doing this myself, how hard can it be ? My main questions are do I have to drain the tank completely ? Along with disconnecting the battery should I pull the relays out ? Lift the rear bench out and then open inspection hatch remove old pump switch out reverse the process and prime ?

centre console lights
Hi, I don't know where to start, maybe a bad earth or one bulb giving a faulty voltage or something wrong with the switch ?

Subaru Leicester dealer clutch con?
I wasn't having a go either you just expect to pay top rate due to the technicians etc. I've not got a bad word to say about my local subaru, nothing but help even when I go in asking for that bolt that goes in the hole over there, and with it being an import most dealers don't want to know. One of the best main dealers I've delt with, having a 17 year old car that has no warranty I go to an in dependant subaru specialist who looks after a number of cars,

cost of your mods
20 quid to add my exhaust lol

Subtle performance ideas needed.
Not entirely sure to be honest, all depends, what was yours as standard 220 bhp ? Think yours has Td04 turbo and 440cc injectors stock so theoretical figures up to about 270 before things start to run out of puff. Don't hold me to these I'm just giving ballpark max extractable figures from the turbo.
-
What would you do?
You will get a slight increase in noise etc if you went for the soild cusco mounts

What have you done to your Subaru today ?
Have you just cut round the bin and fridges there ? [emoji3]

Subtle performance ideas needed.
A few members have had problems with the walbro pumps seems that the quality has gone downhill in the Last couple of years, the roger clark motorsport ones have been recommended before along with scoobyworx pumps. The maff sensor doesn't get on with oiled filters like the k&n ones so maybe a dry drop in one may be better, there are loads of induction kits around but I'd stick with the standard air box if your not after big bhp gains, the heat generated in the engine bay is going to cancel out the benefits of a cone filter in my opinion, I've been told to either mod the intake side or the exhaust side but not both if you don't plan on getting a map straight away as it messes up the fueling too much, how true this is I don't know but I'm not planning on trying just incase, I ended up going sports cat and ss exhaust system as the previous one was rotting away, I haven't seen any over boost issues that may occur if you delete the cats without a map but I do know mine runs a little rich due to not being mapped yet, if yours is a My99 car onwards there's ecutek software and others available for you. Duncan from racedynamix comes highly recommended for mapping, I'm sure a few more members from down your way will be able to ad a few more names, So I'd go either exhaust or intake mods, fuel pump, then if you want to change the other bit you've not done, do it on the day of mapping then of it is running funny you won't cause too many issues
