What have you done to your Subaru today ?

Went to watch the rallying last night... saw too many Subaru's to count both in the rally and there watching. Even the marshals were using Foresters! They had "Scooby Clinic" on the side :). My car has been in the garage since last night, heading round soon to sort the brakes, fit the drop links and rear brace :).

Then hopefully going to watch more of the rally this afternoon if all goes well with the car. Rally is at these post codes for anyone interested...

FY7 6QE

FY1 1RU

Bit too far away for most of you though :(

Looks like mine will be getting the full works wash and wax, after doing 1000 miles this week it's looking like a reps car. Think the pressure washer will get some use today

Just considering buying one Dog......any recommendations?.....I was looking at the Karcher K2.

Well today hasn't gone to plan, turns out both front calipers are leaking at the seals . Turns out I have alloy wishbones (bonus) just means the links I got wont fit so will swap them this week for the correct ones. Got a coolant leak on my lower rad hose so will replace that and the sump plug washer is leaking slightly. All this will be done next weekend . Currently fighting the rear strut brace, the near side doesn't seem to fit?

Oh and today I man'd up , braved the cold and treated the old girl to a oil n filter change ....

Did end up getting a bit side tracked while waiting for the oil to drain my ocd got the better of me [emoji4]

ended up removing the windscreen washer bottle , filling it with bicarbonate soda and giving it a clean by stuffing some rags in it and poking them about with various screw drivers [emoji2]

Good luck fitting the intake hose mate, they re a bit of a pig if you don't remove the manifold, space is tight

Savage, bet you have one clean washer bottle now ;). Or did you do it as a form of entertainment?

Well after 4 hours playing with my car yesterday we achieved...

Tyre pressures checked

Coolant leak found (replacing pipe next weekend)

Sump plug nipped (washer replacement next weekend)

Brakes diagnosed (leaking seals)

Brake calipers cleaned to get rid of the fluid

Diagnosed failing wheel bearing

Discovered alloy wishbones

Failed to fit droplinks (they are for steel wishbones)

Failed to fit strut brace (wrong size... Inch too long??)

On a good note, the car doesn't use oil or coolant! Engine is sweet . Just a couple of niggles to sort out and she's perfect again. Just cant brake until the calipers are sorted which is a slight problem with it being my daily...

Gaulson the Washer bottle was minging even though I did give it a rinse during the reshell and it's been bugging me for a while lol

Today I sort of killed my neighbours bubble arched mk1 escort [emoji53]

He spotted me heading towards the carriage way and decided he wanted to prove his N/A st engine running twin carbs was faster than my 21 yr old classic up the slip lane ....

After the st engine spat it's guts out I gave him a lift home to collect his recovery truck.

I Launched mine out of the lay by up to 70 mph , his face went white and he said "well this obviously ain't standard no wonder I couldn't keep up "[emoji5]

Poor escort [emoji53]

Yeah I've got a soft spot for mk1 escorts [emoji7] I haven't got a clue what he's going to do with it he's just took it to his work shop and left it there for now .

He's got a mk2 escort project with a v6 galaxy lump in it , 5 other cars ,does civic banger racing and runs his own garage so he hasn't got the time to even look at it.

Spat all it's oil outta the crank seal so doesn't look like a quick fix [emoji19]
