But at that point I? was like it's fine I'll wait :D

mfnick Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Really bad turn out for our lot. Especially considering how many said they were coming, quite disappointing to say the least. Still had a good time though met a couple of new faces and always good seeing Dave and Tom. Great BBQ and alcohol free beer provided so big thanks to those 2 ;) We somehow managed to come 10th out of 12 in the show stand competition too. Must have been due to the diversity. Anyway I'll upload my pics later, I've gone out for a bit now lol 2

Gambit Posted June 21, 2015 Author Posted June 21, 2015 Well I've apologised for our poor turn out felt I had to really as I appreciate how much work they put into getting this event going. They did say sorry for the traders they had 12 booked to come and only 2 arrived and the normal DJ who has done it for 12 years was taken ill so missed it too. But they have asked for any feedback on how to improve next year and have offered to try help. They maybe looking at bring in the Saturday camping again which I think would be a cool move gets clubs going the night before and helps with the travel. But for any of the guys who went today do you have any suggestions I can give back to them. ?
david1972 Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 We talked about this funnily enough. Camping the night before came up, as did the way they lay it out. Rather than having rows of cars on club stands down each side, they should make it 3-sided to box things up a bit to make everybody feel part of the event. The control tent could make the 4th side of the box, if you see what I mean. It felt all too distant and spaced out today. Hope that helps mate Sent from my iphone using Tapatalk 1

Althought whoever did the layout put SOC down the right hand side of the field, they also sent SOCOM to the same spot. It turned out with us getting shoved in the bottom corner... a bit annoying considering the size of the field! They certainly need to look at the layout of the whole thing and giving clubs the option to camp over on the fri/sat nights. But in any case it turned out a nice day! 2

mfnick Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Yep, the idea of it being a weekend do where you can camp over is definitely a big one. Who wouldn't want to camp over and drink for the weekend ;) I also think they should charge before the event. Like Japshow etc. once you've paid you're more committed. Should stop the majority of people who say they'll come then don't - without good reason. Need to give a shout out to Mica who did turn up too for a bit even though he was ill too. The lack of trade shows was very disappointing. But sounds like it's not their fault there. I went with over £100 to spend on the stalls and auction and there was nothing there. Speaking of the auction, I was waiting for it to happen and then found out it had already taken place but I had no idea. They could do with someone walking around with the megaphone letting us who were far away from the main tent know what was happening. But they just seemed to stay at their marque and not move. Either that or make it more condensed when there's not that many people overall who turn up as we were very thinly spread about. 2
