Nice blue banana [emoji26] Hopefully it only hurt your pride and everyone involved is ok . As said above what are you after and what's your budget ? As we enjoy spending other people's money ,as i certainly get no grief of my mrs for spending your cash.[emoji23] Best of luck with the hunt for a replacement [emoji106]

Gearbox matching
What about using the model code to see if that turns up any info about what ratio box it should have ?

New age coil
No bud, it won't need tweeking in. As a newage coilpack conversion just increases spark strength to lessen the chance of a misfire and doesn't alter anything else . It's definitely a worth while mod on a early classic. If your going to get the boost upped get a later my 97 (v3 ) classic map sensor and get the mapper to fit and scale it in . As the v1/v2 map sensor maxes out at 1.2 bar whereas the v3 onwards map sensor maxes at 1.7 [emoji6]

rota rims on my subaru wrx version 1 gc8
I've got 17" rota boosts on my v1 sti and I think size wise they're ideal . As they fill the arches well enough but don't comprise traction in the twisties or chip my teeth on speed bumps . As if you go up to 18's you have to get a lower profile tyre to keep the rolling radius the same .

Vapour blasting ??
Ffs don't use your Mrs dishwasher [emoji15] I dare say she's miffed enough your "slow build" has turned into a gallop for ponies [emoji23] But a normal dishwasher does work [emoji39]

Gearbox matching
Hopefully one of the legacy or sport boys will know about the n/a legacy boxes . Throughout the impreza turbo range ,well from 92 to to about 07 , all manual 5 speed boxes are compatible with any rear diff of the same ratio . Even the later sti 6 speed box will work with any 5 speed diff of the same ratio as the 6 speed box . So I'd imagine, if the ratio is the same that, they would be compatible but I don't know for sure and don't want you to buy it without someone else confirming it . As I've never seen either of those codes before ,or a legacy gearbox for that matter . Best of luck getting it sorted

Vapour blasting ??
My engineer put the block, heads, oil cooler through his "hot wash" . Most machine shops have them ,basically they're just a massive dish washer

North weld test n tune 7th may ?
That's where I spotted it gaz , just knew there was a few members on here in the south east and thought I'd see how much interest there is . If there's only a few on here I'm sure chez will make room but if there's quite a few from here we could probably get our own stand sorted 😉

North weld test n tune 7th may ?
This popped up on a face book group and I thought that I'd give you lot the heads up. I could easily get them to squeeze a few extra scoobs on their stand . Or if there's enough interest maybe do a s.o.c stand ? Either way it looks like a cheap'ish day out as I think it's £10 per car entry fee and £25 if you want to run down the strip . Only got a link to the venue ,not the actual event atm but here it is anyways . http://www.northwealdairfield.org/Campaign/Latest_News/Events/events.html

Tips and tricks to make car 'shine'
Up to you bud , I normally give mine a coat of wax every month but only clay once in the spring . As claying removes all the polish ,wax and decontamination off the paint leaving it unprotected.

What have you done to your Subaru today ?
Today i be mostly Trying to not buy another classic to keep mine company ...... I don't really need another scoob atm but It's a tidy example with mint rear arches and belongs to a local lad who I helped a couple of months back . Its a Bog standard bar decat and d.v ,98 turbo 2000 (Dutch import) 94k fsh £1.8 k ovno . Soo tempting as it would make a great daily for the winter months [emoji39]

Tips and tricks to make car 'shine'
I'm no detailer but I do like to keep a clean scoob ,so here's what I'll do in the spring .... Jet wash and 2 bucket hand wash . Clay bar or cloth (to remove tar spots ) rinse again . Sonax silver polish to hide stone chips and marks . Auto glym resin polish to lessen swirls and make the metallic paint fleck "pop" . Good quality wax (colinite 845 or some sort of carnauba wax ) this stops the polish washing off, if you re'apply once every 2 months . Just before winter I use a " paint sealer" over the wax to help it stay clean . I'm sure plenty of others will have their own method and products but that seems to work for me without breaking the bank [emoji6]

Dunno anything thing about the compatibility or the seller but I spotted these Any good ?

a few pics of my project so far
Haven't done much to the scoob this year so far as it's far too cold atm [emoji57] . Unfortunately I knew I had to replace my p.s pump soon, as the original 23yr old pump had been getting noisier by the day [emoji53]. I haven't made my mind up yet whether I wanted to do a newage pump conversion or mod a classic pump to take a separate custom reservoir. Checked the price of a new pump £380 [emoji33] [emoji57] Luckily enough A friend is breaking his 93 wrx ,so I bought a pump off him for £20 It was far too dirty (No way in my bay lol) so a degrease , prep n paint later . Before removing the noisy old pump I decided to flush the system through with some fresh p.s fluid , as it had never been changed in the 5 yrs I'd known the car . Then let the old pump drain the system and removed it . Finally fitted the new (25yr old) pump , filled the system ,started it up and bled it by gradually topping it up while turning the steering from lock to lock . Not as exciting as a remap but a well overdue bit of maintenance out of the way . At least the only whining I hear now is if I hit full boost and the Mrs is in the car [emoji23]

Piggys (slow) build
Someone like matty b @ mbdevelopments or Scott at pole position might have the cam pulleys in stock . I don't know if there's a particular limit to get a uprated belt but I went for the gates kevlar belt (half the price of the cossie one ) with New idler's and tensioner .

Re map tomorrow
standard newage 440cc wrx injectors are blue which are good for 330hp ish .

Rear brake dust covers
Yep the ones on my 97 UK turbo just fell off but I had to chisel and grind the spot welds off my 94 jdm import.

New to forums
As above is pretty much spot on but if you have a search on here there's a "sticky" thread with a buying guide that covers the main things to look out for [emoji6]

This is the guide I used to fit my apexi avcr . First pic is to tell you what pinout drawing is for your model . The previous avcr owner had wrote his v4 loom colours on the diagram but if your's is a v1 /v2 phase 1 it will use the diagram under his writing number F2b Let me know how you get on, fella .

What have you done to your Subaru today ?
It's still a 23yr old p.s pump but at least it looks a bit better after a clean up and a lick of paint . Just a shame I've got the day off due to it being too cold to render but it's also to cold to play scooby [emoji53]
