  1. Main dealer doesn't think there is any reason why you shouldn't replace fronts or rears at different times, it can alter your mileage, fuel economy accuracy etc I guess. The only thing I can think it would affect is the 4x4 system if it thinks the front or rear wheels are slipping, but not seen anything about it. You are supposed to put new tyres on the rears rather than the fronts though, I know that much, something to do with stability. I did think I might just bite the bullet and do all 4 as they're all pretty worn now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. It's not that common these days for tracking to be wildly out unless you're a kerb monkey or go off roading a lot. But even with mine I go down a lot of pretty rough tracks and it's held up pretty well. Good you're all sorted anyway, may I ask where did you get alignment done and how much was it? Thought I might get mine done when in for new tyres Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Well, I've contacted our local tyre supplier, he's come back with a really good price for the Geolandars for an XV. £109 a corner fitted and balanced etc, over £100 cheaper than I have been quoted elsewhere. My wife is changing her rear tyres now at 45k, I'm at 48k and will probably have to change my rears at 50k, pretty good tyre wear for a 4x4. Fronts got a few thousand left in the must I reckon.
  4. I think it's one of things that varies between cars, a bit like clutch judder, mine is barely noticeable, wife's is a little more obvious, but drove a courtesy XV with 5000 on the clock and it juddered so much it was almost undrivable. I'll be honest my car is much better between 1st and 2nd than others I've driven. My wife's is very smooth between the 1st two. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Got to buy two for my wife's car, our local supplier has quoted me £109 each which is pretty cheap, much cheaper than I can get them for. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Sorry, life and The Division have been getting in the way 😉
  7. Well I drive about 20k a year too and I've replaced nothing to date so I'm probably a good benchmark. at around 50k you can expect to replace brake pads and tyres, there shouldn't be much else really that wears out. Clutches shouldn't go that early but can do if you had a really bad driver before. as long as it's had a full service history everything that needs replacing should have been done, 48k service is about £500 so that should be fine. tyres aren't cheap, the yoko Geolanders will set you back around £800 a set, that said, at 48k miles I'm still on my original tyres so they may be better value longer term that others. Worth noting these tyres were designed by Yokohama specifically for Subaru. so in answer to your question, if they've not been done recently then I'd assume you'll need brake pads and tyres soon.
  8. Never thought about it but you're right, I think I've only dipped my mirror a couple of times since I had it.
  9. Wow, you must have run up the mileage in yours!
  10. Same here, 48k still on the tyres that came with the car, all even wear.
  11. Mine has done 48k and has had no problem with the clutch, Subarus are prone to a bit of clutch judder but you should be getting 100k+ out of a clutch these days. Dud it actually break or did it just start slipping, if it broke that's clearly a fault, worn out means that someone spent a lot of time riding the clutch, which is daft because it has hill start assist so there's no need to hold the clutch, you just sit on the foot brake then pull away.
  12. I couldn't work out how to open the doors to start with, then I realised you have to stick this pointy thing in a hole in the door and turn it! Also you can't adjust the mirrors in the car unless you have very long arms. Staggeringly it has traction control, but that MG couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding. 13. Dropped mine in for a service, got given a courtesy car while mine's in. Feeling like a little piece of me died inside after driving it! I'm sure dealers do it on purpose! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  18. This guy is more forgiving than I am, I'd have strung em both up by their privates if it had been my car. Good advertising for Subaru though. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3343221/Forgiving-car-dealership-owner-owed-25-000-teen-vandal-gives-JOB-instead-pressing-charges.html Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  23. Mine is a 2014 model, my wife's a 2013, I know the 2014 had some new nickel coated Pistons or something. I always run mine in at under 3000rpm for the 1st 1000miles. It helps you fuel consumption and everything. But it might be because we're so careful to run the cars in properly that we've had no issues. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I just think it's gore for gore's sake, I liked the original doom played it for hours. But this doesn't do anything for me at all, even if it still has the BFG in it!
