Forester SG5 audio options
echo Bitman that's the simplest approach as you will probably be able to get a harness adapter for the centre console unit so no messing about with connectors, soldering and heat shrink

What have you done to your Subaru today ?
dependant on how you go with the tyres it may get worse - skinny hard tyres = low grip but low rolling resistance / friction so less power needed to move that means higher MPG super sticky wide tyres means high grip, great performance but lower mpg as it takes more power to deal with the increase friction

Intercooler pipe experience
yes - !Removed! frustrating that is - I use T bar sockets on them most of the time to try and avoid that

Intercooler pipe experience
yup jubilees dont seem to be as robust as they did years ago, metal seems softer so you cant get them screwed up as tight

Intercooler pipe experience
That wasn't your driving - possibly just a dodgy connection but I would check all secure as Gambit suggested - given that I would also check the other connections under your bonnet
-
problem
Was just going to post what Ash has stated - increasing airflow doesnt get you more boost - just allows you to increase the amount of air fuel mixture into the cylinders - to do that you need a mep or tweak the turbo - ideally both

Looking for info :)
Wotcha and welcome - If you go for a car that is all running but needs attention - which should be possible with the budget Gambit suggested, you will be able to conduct a full refurbishment of everything and learn as you go and also get a taste of teh good stuff before you start taking things apart. If you get a car with major issues to start with you can end up chasing your tail for ages. We have threads on here about full engine rebuilds (Savage + Tlag) and also some on the drive improvements (Bazza + Rollomite) there are many other examples of members doing great stuff to their cars in the project section. I dont think any of the Subaru technology incl turbos are out of your capability. They are as cheap or expensive as you want to make them but modding is addictive so beware ;)

Carbon wrapped interior trim
Its turned out well

Quick question
it depends how much damage you are happy doing before you start you project - it cost me £35 to hire a car trailer for the day to get a bust car back home, cheaper than potentially trashing the whole engine
-
My outback exterior
as its just stripping the paint off and they are not large complex shapes it should be a relatively low cost job - which Georgia are you in and ill do some digging?
