yeah was great, for the 4 hours i had a working car on the island,,,,, hahahahahahaha
nah really nice place, friendly people and we had some cracking weather.
given the changes to the ring now i'd rather go back to the isle of man myself
tends to work out a bit more than an ecutek, but the added benefits it brings are worth the extra imo. Can take a couple of visits to the mapper to sort out cold start (uinless you leave it with em for a couple of days) but once thats sorted then all good.
I use scoobyclinic for all my work based out at chesterfield, Pat Herborn does their ecutek and syvecs mapping and they have an internal guy to do Alcatek.
O don't get me wrong, syvecs is the way to go if you have the extra cash, i would always go syvecs myself which is why i have one, but for a simple decat and map its prob a tad ott at £2k unless you have the spare money lol
Alcatek will do the job fine
afraid its not that simple mate, my old classic wheels had plenty of gap but still didn't fit. know anyone with a 01-04 sti you could just quick try a wheel on?
Not sure how it will work tbh.
Def depends on court case that. If they change the map (easiest way round it) and it drops the power or mpg you could argue that it isn't within the specs you were told at the time of purchase. How ever given the time frame is it reasonable for them to give you a full refund?
may find they offer compensation based on vehicles age, mileage etc
Anyone on PCP might be within their rights to return the vehicle and end the agreement without penalty.
depends what they do, the nitrogen emission was high to reduce co2.
other companies use urea injection (a small tank that does need filling now and again) to reduce the emissions, the VW engine didn't have that. Ironicly saved em £300 per unit (per engine), given there now talking billions in costs i suspect that may prove a costly way to try to get a bit more profit.
I suspect if it changes the tax bracket or reduces the power then its a change to the car's spec and therefore due a refund. Depends if they manage to weedle out of it or not.
Yours is a wrx isnt it chris?
TBH i;d just say sod it and chuck a D2 brake upgrade at it or AP for the big daddy. Stay away from Ksport though the dust seals on em are crap.
the time of failure doesn't always mean that's when the damage was done.
Tis unusual though, the hawk wrx box's are pretty strong, i ran over 400ftlb for a good 14 months no issues.
