  1. :D
  2. Problem with the 5 speed is its weak, 350bhp and if you don't drive it with some mechanical sympathy it will shat itself. Can get uprated 5 speeds (PPG, Albins etc) but they are typically 3k + so more than the cost of a 6 speed conversion. 17's will handle and ride better than 18's. Standard caliper is pretty weedy so your best bet is fit a 330mm kit which fit underneath 17's, D2 or similar is a nice cheap upgrade or 330mm 4 or 6 pot Ap's are the daddy. Brembo of an sti are a funny offset so wont fit under alot of wheels. Also braided lines and decent fluid.
  3. Wouldn't hurt to replace it anyway given its ten years + old, walbro 255 will be fine for what your talking about.
  4. 5th gear synchro can be done without splitting the box, so depends what route you wanna go
  5. Their simplifying it, i wonder if they will just drop all cars to £140 in a few years to make it really easy.
  6. brake lines will make a bigger difference
  7. Slow but coming along well matey. haha, not the worst bit of body work bodge i've seen lol
  8. shall i ask if the box was sorted? hehe
  9. all the ones i've seen around that price bracket never seem to be that good, either paint is tired with rust or mechanicals arn't 100% etc
  10. very different car, short ratio box, less sound deadening, dccd etc love my type r, but its no where near standard any more haha
  11. 2-3k sti is gonna be a bit rough round the edges, similar with a type r at 6k
  12. Went under I believe, but not 100% on that.
  13. O balls. Forgot to take a pic of my nob :(
  14. Welcome
  15. Ah sorry i get you, can you pop some of the pipes off and see if you have got oil in any of them?
  16. Basicly weaps past the seals, so need to pool over time to be visible. not enough to be visible under normal running, but given time to pool you'll see a puff of smoke, my old turbo did exactly that.
  17. Is there oil in the intercooler? could be the oil seals on the turbo
  18. Yeah thats the 'new' impreza :S I can't figure out why they created a separate model. !Removed! on the heritage if you ask me
  19. No such thing as a UK wrx post hatch. There's an impreza which is non turbo or wrx sti.
  20. Just jump in fire it up and drive mate, no need to let it sit. Give it a few miles to warm oil up before you give it large.
  21. It's whats on my type R, does the numbers plus I prefer them on the quieter side now, must be getting old :(
  22. yeah, only way i can see the end of it its that far way ;) hahahaha
  23. I know its been mentioned before, but finaly getting round to playing it online. Is anyone still playing it? or point me in the direction of a decent active crew?
  24. http://cobrasport.com/index.php/cobra-sport-exhaust/subaru/impreza/subaru-impreza-sti-turbo-hatchback.html also stay away from anything with a mesh section in it
