Unbelievable 😩
Sounds like found a decent dealer. Instead of naming and shaming sounds like gonna have to name and praise when all sorted.

Gearbox choice
Aftermarket 5 speed gearkit, ppg, albins etc. still not cheap though. Just go like for like if your not launching it

Gearbox choice
Depends how mad you want to go. Like for like replacement should be fine at that power level with some mechanical sympathy. If you plan on going higher power then uprated gearkit or 6 speed, but neither will be cheap

Decat and map is about as far as you want to go on the standard engine. Just be carefull of who you get to to the work for you. Some very dodgy places around your way

Unbelievable 😩
I wonder if the headgasket had gone previously and they didn't do the crank bearings.
-

Unbelievable 😩
Warrenty repair or reject the car, you have 6 months legally now. If they do do a repair make sure they use a proper specialist. Do you know exactly what has failed?

Quantum remap

Quantum remap
Zero scoob on their photo's on FB and looks like all flashmaps, based in maidenhead as well so would be a trek and half if local to notts. Zero comments on SN about them at all.

Quantum remap
Any link to a website of theres? Typicly a couple of hours assuming all goes to plan, multiple dyno runs (can go 100+ if a cars not playing ball) and then finished on the road. If you can;t find any info on them stay away.

To import or not to import?!?! from a newbie
Welcome. Fresh imports will have zero paperwork with them. try and get hold of a copy of the auction sheet, will tell you about it, bodywork its had etc. Also assume it will need a full service inc cambelt etc. Pound being as weak as it is at the min means prices are pretty high on fresh imports, plus you can find some in the uk already

Tidgy's project Type R
Could be the heads indeed, I'm not sure on the exact specs of the turbo in mine to see how it compares to yours, just didnt expect such a difference between the two.

Tidgy's project Type R
haha yeah, torque was good on the previous low boost map but i didn't expect it to stay so far ahead of the BHP, gained 65bhp and 85ftlb :o

Power graph chat
Post to talk about the graphs posted up in the reference thread.

Power graphs for reference
Thought it would be a good idea to get a thread going of peoples dyno graphs so if folks want info on what they can expect from what turbo/engine/mod combo. Can we please not have comments/general talk in this thread so it's just posts of graph and spec than can be searched for answers. I've created a chat thread here, If parts arn't off the shelf (turbos are a good example) please add (custom) so its easy to tell. Mine as a starter, 2.5 Closed deck converted block, mahle pistons, manley rods, ARP headstuds, ACl bearings, Supertech valve kit in V5 heads (none AVCS). Perrin inlet pipe, Front mount intercooler, Perrin induction kit, walbro 400 fuel pump, Nismo 740CC injectors, Syvecs ECU, GT spec Gen 2 headers, 06 UK hawk sti 6 speed gearbox, twin plate competition clutch, Full cobra decat, Garret GT2871 R billet turbo (Custom), 3 port boost solenoid, 4 bar map sensor.
