New engine build
assumes its not a wrx block. Out of the 2.1 and 2.5 for a road car 2.5 is way better, cant beat low down grunt it has :D im only running 330bhp, but 380ftlb haha

Number 83, UK300 WRX
!Removed!, i totaly missed this thread or i would have mentioned about the brakes :( Spacers or different wheels are your only options. The brembos are pretty crap as far as clearance goes. even AP 6 pots are better :o

New engine build
Is the existing block semi closed or open deck? If so 2.1 will be a cheaper option Its really down to what you want to do and budget, the heads will mate to either option, personal choice would be closed deck converted 2.5. whats in my type R now :D Built right a closed deck 2.5 will do 500 and still be reliable.

Should I buy a 2010 WRX STI 330s?
All cars of that age are prone to it. It's the 2.5 engine that is a dog from the factory, wrx and sti. Rebuilt right then they make a great engine though.

Don't believe all the power figures that come out of the US, most are rubbish. If your aiming for mid 600's then i would go to a tuner and get them to spec and built one for you, gonna be a big big list and hefty price tag to boot. Going to various different places will prob cause you issues in the long run if the power level isn't achieved.

Ah fair do's, missed what you were getting at No, they use a local engineering firm, can't remember the name of it now but they have used them for years for all the machining. Nearly did go to Alyn for mine but since it needed a block and was going for honing etc just went to the same place for converting.

up pipe, down pipe, headers are worth doing, rest not really worth it due to limited gains

Launch Control & Anti Lag Simtek
On the road there a bit pointless, i;ve not even bothered having the launch control set up on my syvecs. Have got the AL setup, but its def something to be used as sparingly as possible and only in short burst, causes massive heat build up. Rally cars have the turbos swapped out after every stage to put it into context

In theory anything like that would be a free dealer service anyway isn't it?

It all get s a bit partisan at times hahaha. I think the issue is constructive criticism isn't around any more, if someone isn't happy first thing they do is go on social media and sprout off, over egg it and it doesn't mater what the truth is. If your unhappy with something pick up the phone and speak to them. If, like you found out, they don't respond and sort out problems when your honest with who ever it is, your never gonna get anywhere and time to go public. But you have to be honest with them and give them the full info.

Because its all been said before, he refused to show the boss the video when asked. So if I went to your boss and said you'd done x/y/z and gave no evidence would you expect to be fired? The last time something like this happened a guy claimed to be on site for 45 mins waiting for them to 'shovel their face' as he put it, the security footage then showed he was on site for 2 mins 45 seconds. Have a read. And after think about how you'd react. http://www.scoobynet.com/dealer-and-third-party-supplier-queries-3/750117-scoobyclinic-dont-need-our-cash.html

that's total garbage, the only time anything like that has been ever said is when people have gone around spreading lies and no matter what is said they don't stop. How would you react if someone was doing that?

A 20 year reputation blotted by one incident, the difference is i've been around long enough to see cowboys come and go, plus crap mappers turn out dozens of !Removed! up cars yet people still think there good recommend them and they end up with a !Removed! up car, just like pigs found out. I don't like people being ripped off and it winds me up.

Depends how willing you are to travel, Andy Forrest, Scoobyclinic and engine tuner are the only 3 i'd ever use. Paul Blamier is the other one but he now works for Ecutek so doesn't do public mapping.
