The STI Brembos brakes would be the way to go . Got them on my Leggy and very happy.
You shouldnt have any issues hitting 260 BHP with stock turbo, decent exhaust, intake and map. Bigger turbo, injectors and other bits will see you over 300 BHP.
Welcome!
Importing a Legacy ....... kudos to you
Both the 2.0 Turbo and 3.0 H6 are very nice cars as standard and not much between them on the road. My mate has a H6 and its not like I spank him on stock boost. The H6 does need a bit more 'neck ringing' where the turbo is nice to drive lower end on the primary turbo.
The first thing I would ask yourself is, are you looking at modifying it? Unless you spend big money on a supercharger + the standard additions of exhaust and filter, you wont get much more power from the H6. The 2.0 turbo will get you up to 315ish BHP without spending too much and of course you can unlock that 4cyl Scooby burble
Personally I would be looking for a nice low mileage late Twin Turbo E Tune.
Enjoy the forum
Welcome!
2006 would have to be 2.5 I believe. 2.0 l stopped 2005. You will get many different views on which is best but all really come down to personal experience I guess. 2.0 more reliable power but 2.5 more torque. For not a lot of money you can get more power, exhaust, filter and map are the most common routes. There are some good threads on here and plenty of experience. Dig in
I think the STI wheels of the same year would be the 114 PCD and yours is a 100 PCD. If you wanted bigger wheels youd be safe with pre 2005 STI wheels. Having said that the offset wont be that noticeable so you may still find they look a bit lost. You would need to either get some spacers for the standard Subaru alloys or potentially aftermarket wheels with maybe a mid 40's offset.
But hey if your happy then leave it be. As you say the Subaru guys picked it for a reason.
Never seen anything like that before. Slightly confused about how this would work day to day in terms of resticking it? Looks hard wired. I may be thinking all wrong though?
Im just trying to see if there is a pattern with your decat and the issue. It is mostly recommend to have a remap after decatting. You might just need some ignition tweaks etc on a rolling road session. You could try all sorts of plugs but you might not resolve the issue. See if anyone else has any suggestions.
They can clean up as Sandals says. If you need one is this it?

Sounds sensible! You did well to find one. It's right up there on my list of future cars to own, just love the simple styling.
Look forward to seeing it!
