  1. Yeah I reckon you'll be fine just don't go driving like a madman ipc usually have sensors instock, they are a little more than generic ones but I'd rather pay extra for peace of mind and a guarantee that it will work for longer than six months lol
  2. Look nicely done there mate, take it your going red/black theme all over then ?
  3. May !Removed! the timing if it thinks it's nocking or go into safe mode if it gets bad,

  5. Plenty of how to guides all over the Internet, cleaning out the solinoid is easy get some brake cleaner, put the car into diagnostic mode with green connectors under dash, take off vac pipes and spry in top hole for ages, don't forget to put a rag under bottom hole to catch the crap, Have you checked the diagnostic for error codes

He comes recommended has good results with new age cars a few members here have used him, I'm booked in tomorrow for a session with him on a classic so will let you know my thoughts
  7. How long you had the car ? Have the symptoms just started ? Basically if you lift the bonnet and look at the area to the left of the tmic you'll see the turbo housing there will be a small arm running from a round circular bit sticking out to the left bit like a very small biscuit tin check that this isn't obstructed. As for the solinoid follow the vacuum lines from the top of the turbo to the left hand suspension turret you'll see it attached to a bracket will be something a bit larger than a clipper lighter with at least two hoses coming out
  8. Hello welcome looks nice, Jay & scooby Pete are your best bet for hatch specs

Turbo blanket may be worth a look, good for keeping the heat in the turbo for faster spool and exhaust, and even better for keeping heat out of the bay. I can just about touch the top of the blanket as it retains that much heat, and the under side of the i/c is cool to touch. I've also read that the scoop becomes inefficient at directing the airflow at 70+ unsure if how accurate this is though,
  13. Love that escort, so as a token offer will you be helping him build a new engine for it sav ?
  14. Good luck fitting the intake hose mate, they re a bit of a pig if you don't remove the manifold, space is tight
  15. Haha just interested to see what differences there were.
  16. Maybe worth testing the battery. Make sure it's holding charge
  17. I'm down at GR performance in Rotherham Monday I'll speak to them see what they charge for power runs etc if you want ?
  18. When does it come on boost compared to the 04 rick ?
  19. Haha new phone ! And the fact it's had a good clean under there. When I picked her up she was sat under a tree in a farmyard
  20. Just about finished the engine bay. At the start with just fitted brace To toady Just got to finish off replacing the hoses and I'll be done
  21. The cast pipe is supposd to be upto 50% more efficient. well Monday will be a whole different kettle of fish. Just got to remember to pick up new filter I left in work last night. The engine bay is looking good, getting there I'm not one for detailing it but whenever I remove a part the area gets cleaned and bits replaced.
  22. Sound yes, deeper note to idle and spool seems to be faster [emoji3] . Not much boost increase as I went to see a mate last night so not had chance to give it some Took a bit to get it to sit properly which was weird, maybe it's the sillicone collar I bought seem a little shorter. Looks good though cheers !
  23. Makes sense Clive I've just found the other article, says I should order W0404-19 instead, grrr ! I knew last night's parts swap was going too easy when I'd done the cooler, tank gasket and had a brew in an hour. Rick have a look at yours and if they look like the new ones I have give us a shout
  24. No don't give my reg mate ad it brings up a non turbo gl on the database. Even on the whitline site it says for 98-2002 but I did notice one for the rear looks like the front ones I have. Trouble is they just use a generic picture on the bushes. There was something on forester.org a while back but can't find it now
  25. I bought the ones I thought however there is one that doesn't have the three ridges
