  1. Have you thought about an impreza wagon ? Although not discreet matt's looks awesome. I'll have a poke around for you mate post up some links
  2. I got lucky and found one on auto trader from an mx5 specialist down in Southampton who did me a straight swap for my mk1 5 they'd imported it and done all servicing so it hadn't been ragged around. Some are nearly 20 now so finding good ones here may be a struggle. You can still pick them up on jap auction sites for 500-1000 but you'll pay close to 5k by the time you've shipped it and paid the duty, Have a look on UK forester.com someone was selling one the other week buy was highly nodded and neatly 5k again. What kind of budget are you looking at ? An 02-03 plate with prodrive pack would be cheaper tbh
  3. Yeah I did that on all the points that looked rubbish, they must have shaken themselves loose again. My iron's crap though so I may buy a new one before attacking it again. Bought the silver whiteline ones w23480 50 quid from scooby parts. Was impressed by the uprated fronts thought I'd do the rears too. On the hunt for a thicker bar now
  4. Hi mate welcome, As matt says most of the parts on the early sf models are interchangeable. Only real difference is in the shocks, stiffer spring rates and the exhaust backbox being a different shape to clear the diff. Not sure how much the sg and sh models share with the new age impreza but can't be too dissimilar. If you went for a UK s turbo you'd need to go for bigger turbo as the came with a tdo3 and the bits matt had suggested They came with around 177bph a slightly softer cam profile and different ecu. Jdm imports were around 240bhp stock so that may be a better base if your looking at 300bhp. Early cars can't be mapped without the introduction of an esl board into the ecu so that bumps the cost up a bit. My99 and on can be remapped as easily as any other subaru.
  5. I need to re do my clock worked for about 12 months after I last did it then gave up again. Rear droplinks turned up today they'll be going on tomorrow
  6. I had a full system made for mine by cobra. As it's slightly different to the impreza it wasn't off the peg, dropped it at 9 in the morning by half 12 they had made a twin resonated middle and backbox from scratch along with fitting the downpipe [emoji16]
  7. I've got some bilt & hamber stuff I used on the mazda before, took all rust off and only had to wash off in morning, some zinc primer lying round somewhere too, just not really the weather to be starting. The rubber trim needs cleaning out properly too so while it's wet no point [emoji25]
  8. Found 2 tiny spots of rust in the n/s rear arch under the rubber protector trim [emoji35] not enough to warrant cutting it out yet.... So covered it in a bit of underseal so hopefully the waxoil in it will drive the moisture out until the weather is good enough to set about getting it and treating & sealing properly. Really !Removed! me off that my garage space is no more Also ordered some whiteline rear droplinks
  9. Yes mate I was just replying to tom lol
  10. I like the look in pic below, understated but you know what it is and only the fmic gives away that fact that it's running more than stock.
  11. Not sure how much water actually gets into the engine bay through the scoop as there is an air dam in place to channel the air to the turbo and cooler. Could always fashion a drip tray to collect any wild drips. I know mine mail let's out so much heat I doubt the water has chance to get that far in before evaporating
  12. Hello have you checked the aircon ? Maybe a slight leak or a pipe getting condensation on it when it goes through a defrost cycle and dripping down ?
  13. [emoji16] I did my fronts Sunday just a bit of an issue with freeing them off as were a bit seized on one side, just ordered a set of whiteline rear links today
  14. If it's a UK car you should have yellow ones which will be fine
  15. Hello & welcome [emoji16]
  16. Have you checked both fuse boxes ? Mine went and couldn't figure it out turns out it was the 20amp? in engine bay box
  17. You manage to knock the parking light switch on the steering clounm into half on half off position ?
  18. No mate not at all, I don't know the 1st thing about electrics so I wasn't confident about hacking into the loom. I got a piggyback live from the fuse box found a spare switch taped up under the dash for my ignition live figured it hadn't been used for 17 years so I didn't need it now and the earth and other one I took my time. My instructions were all in Japanese which was fun. Tell your misses to muck in she'll have smaller hands to get into the tight spaces [emoji16] have you decided to put the brass bung under the alternator or on top of not cylinder? Not sure about daisy chaining as I can't do it on mine, I guess you just link the live and negative
  19. Good news [emoji16] now the fun really begins
  20. I'd just left the house so not fullly up to temp, had more important things to do like get beer and supplies for tonight, it's only a 40 limit on that stretch and quite built up area so i'm more than happy for him to use his car as a !Removed! extension on his own
  21. Taken car out for test drive after fitting aforementioned droplinks, headed out onto dual carriageway only for some tit in brand new one series bm come up right behind me then pull into fast lane and sit level with me for about half a mile, must have got bored of me not wanting to race him did a u turn at the next brake in the barriers and drove off like a bell end, Good news is theres no knocking now from the font
  22. I noticed that but it looks ok under the clamp, i'll just keep an eye on it, i'm due to change the coolant soonish so will pop kn new hoses while i'm at it,
  23. Finally got the droplinks on. Three days of soaking in various penetrating sprays. Thought I'd sheared a bolt but all is good [emoji16]
  24. I know I'm an idiot! Well took hose off, inspected and what not all good cleaned the top of rad and hose went on ok managed to move the clamp round and more towards the front tightened up and no more leaks, I was looking at new clamps what do you suggest? Was told the spring type are best for the rad hose ?
  25. Lol cheers mate I managed to put same pic on twice and arsed post up
