Dashcams, show us your view!
I had a similar argument with someone about that advert that used to say if the driver of this car has bed doing 30mph he would have stopped here. I always said based on that flawed logic if he'd been doing 70mph he'd be long gone before the kid run out in the road [emoji5]️Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What have you done to your Subaru today ?
Beats the usual "you can clean mine next" comments you get . They always look smug like they're first person to have ever thought of the joke. Nobs Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Am I a lucky boy!
Manual is a joke, good luck in getting your phone synced to the radio via Bluetooth. You'll find it's surprisingly lively to drive, you've just got the boring 600miles proper running in which will help your mpg, even though they say it shouldn't need it. I did it with mine and get really good mpg considering. You must have had a big car before because the luggage space is quite big, certainly bigger than my old civic. Did you get any extras fitted? I had the bonnet trim and it looks like a totally different car from the front. Glad you're loving it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Glow Plug problems on diesel engine
I think you've just been unlucky, there's certainly very little on the internet about glow plug issues on the post 2013 diesels. Plenty on the older ones. Glow plug issues usually developed at about 16000kms or older. I'm in UK, gives you a sense how big Australia is, if I travelled 3000km in any direction even if I crossed the widest point I'd run out of land after about 1600km. Anyway I hope you get it sorted soon. How do you find the outback, I looked at one but settled for an XV diesel. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Glow Plug problems on diesel engine
It was a well documented issue on the older diesels but isn't or shouldn't be on the newer diesels 2013 on. Could just be a bit of bad luck but I've not heard of the same problems generally on cars after 2013 when they brought out the Euro5 engine. Not sure if you're in UK or not if you are and they're ordering one from Melbourne that's crazy, if you're in Australia not so. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That's pretty good for a petrol to be fair. If you used cruise control a lot that will reduce fuel consumption. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Not sure what you mean, I've actually worked out he did more to the gallon than he was claiming? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I think your maths is slightly out 257/6.1 is 42.1mpg, but you actually used 6.18 gals if the 28.1 l is correct 28.1 litres is actually 6.18 gal 257 miles / 6.81 = 41.59mpg So you actually did better than you thought you did [emoji2] Anyway, I don't want to rain on your parade, but I'm going too [emoji6] I just got back from 3 days in Scotland covered 1057 miles, put £98 of fuel in it. £98 @ 1.209/l is 81litres (17.8 gals) 1057/17.8 = 59.38mpg [emoji41] (Obviously mine's diesel so slightly unfair comparison) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What have you done to your Subaru today ?
My mate used to have a Sierra Cosworth and tried it on with a Lamborghini Diablo, he held him up to 120mph at which point the Lambo dropped it two gears and F***ed off like he was parked. Way to look like a numpty. Mind you he was the same guy that later that year trashed it by showing off jumping blind over a humpback bridge and parked it in the back of a Transit, and I mean in the back as he hit about door handle height. Not sure his car would have survived even if the van wasn't there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The XV costs about £55 to fill it. So I reckon I'll do the 1200 miles on less than £100 if fuel. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It's the car rather than me, just very economical on a long run 65mph on cruise and you'll get 55-60mpg. I've had 79mpg out I of it be hypermiling, but that's really hard work and tedious on a long run. Got 102mpg over 200miles once out of a 1.6D Civic when Honda asked me to for promotion made the national Honda magazine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Taking my camera with me, even though I'm working, might try and get done arty shots of the XV if I get chance. 2 tanks is a conservative estimate, if u drive steady I could possibly get 800 per tank. You'l probably find that even less funny [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Gearing the XV up for the big excursion. 1200miles around Scotland in 3 days. I reckon this should take about 2 tanks of fuel. She'll be getting a clean inside and out this weekend so it's a nice place to sit for the drive. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Took 6.5 hrs to drive back from Hull after getting stuck on M1 yesterday. Crash closed it between J30 and J29a took 2 hours to cover 3 miles, pulled into services and then couldn't get out so had tea and a kip. All in all a pretty crappy day. Next week 3 days all over Scotland, prestwick, Turriff and Forfar. Looking forward to the scenery even if I am there for work Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Went to Halfrauds, bought some meguiars bits as they're still 3 for 2. Bought some wiper blades for the wife's XV as she couldn't see a darn thing but said they'd be ok for a bit. Used my owners club discount card which caused the usual shenanigans. Got there in the end [emoji39] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
