  1. thanks for the replies chaps, worth spending 200 quid on a second hand set?
  2. hi guys, i'm tempted to get some leather seats for my legacy. Anyone got leather seats? i've never had a car with leather seats so i'm interested to know what people think of them. Also, anyone know if leather seats from a mk4 legacy estate will fit in a mk4 legacy saloon? thanks in advance
  3. i've been in blackpool since Friday not seen a single scooby :( Mines sat at home, cant wait to get home and have a drive.
  4. I aint done anything special today, but i do love the comments other people say when getting in my car. along the lines of, "oh what a lovely car, what is it?" "well, its a subaru love...." or "oh, how lovely and clean your car is" :)
  5. thanks Johnny, I've no idea what oil filter I've got, I think i had it changed when it was serviced, which was at 2.5k ago. Think its worth getting a new filter too?
  6. Can I ask, what kinda brands do people go for? Oil for their scoobs that is. I'm after some new engine oil, but there are so many choices, I'm a little uncertain on which one. My manual says i need 5w-30 I found some Shell Helix oil, from Opie oils ebay page here - which seems quite a decent price. Any ideas? what brand do you go for?
  7. yeah, very nice looking motor.
  8. thanks guys, yea looks like a different car! After a mesh grill next. ;)
  9. haha small world.. i live like 5/10 minutes away
  10. thanks chaps, well chuffed. He didn't even charge me, pretty good of him, so I'll get him a case of Stella later. just wondering what to do next.... I've seen a nice grill i like... hhaha
  11. I had a dodgy drivers side tail/brake light. So got both lights replaced. Not very exciting... oh, but I'm getting my spoiler put on tomorrow or Saturday! before and after pics to follow!
  12. I'd get a second opinion from someone else mate. I have no idea how to treat rust, but that is exactly what i would do.
  13. oh i see, hows much would that kind of remap cost?
  14. I think you may have hit the nail on the head there. When got the car, the average MPG was about 28, since I've got it and always used vpower its slowly moved up to 31.8. So that would indicate to me that the previous owner either used 95ron fuel or drove it like he stole it. So, i guess some crap could have come off the injectors or something.
  15. odd but, the car was perfectly fine today.
  16. yea that looks the bawls mate
  17. hmmm, I've no idea hahah. I might it serviced again though, just to be sure to rule out any servicing issues first.
  18. thanks for the reply. yeah it does seem like that, seems a bit odd though. I've done 2000 miles in the car since having it, those have been 2000 pretty steady miles. However, I tend to drive in 5th at anything over 40, which probably isn't healthy. - Could this have caused it? I'll see if it continues through tomorrow.
  19. if you have no luck on ebay, try SG petch. http://subaru.sgpetch.co.uk/pages/accessories I found the site last night, whilst looking for a new grill. Although, I think SG Petch is a main stealer so it may be pricey.
  20. So, Driving to work this morning (car sat over night) and driving home again (car sat outside the office since 10am) so both relatively cold starts i'd guess. The car still drives fine, but at around 3k revs it just seems to have no power or pull. I'd try and push it, but it wouldn't accelerate. It seems to clear up after about 20mins of driving (a bit of town, then dual carriage way speeds) I don't think the clutch is slipping or anything, but I'm more of computer guy, than a car guy so my knowledge is a little limited. Legacy 2.0R, 5 speed. I always use vpower btw. It was serviced before i got it, with new plugs (unaware of the brand/quality though) Any ideas? thanks in advance
  21. My 2.0 legacy doesn't seem to drink that much fuel. I do quite alot of miles per week, driving in and around town and 20-30 miles along a dual carriageway each day. At the moment, I'm getting 31.8 MPG. Which I don't think is too bad considering its a pretty heavy car, big engine and AWD. Buying Shell Vpower is a bit pricey though, at about 136.9 per litre, however, you can collect shell points, which certainly add up, (2 points per litre of vpower, once you get 500points, you then get a £2.50 voucher) and you get extra MPG with higher RON fuel. Tax for mine is £280, although, after having a smaller 1.2 petrol at £130. The fun of driving the scooby is certainly worth the extra cost.
  22. I bought some Autoglym Tar Remover.... not very exciting.
  23. I use Autofinesse Iron out, pretty much does the same thing, all the contaminates run purple, give it a quick scrub then rinse it off. http://shop.autofinesse.co.uk/iron-out-500ml
