Don't have any fins in mine as I bought a carbon graphite aftermarket one as the stock plastic one I had actually ha a crack in it I noticed soon after buying my suby so I replaced it. Airflow seems fine and temps all good
-
Made a lower grille this morning and got lots left over to make 3 or 4 more at least if anyone's else wants one making as didn't fancy paying so much money for one of them zunsport grilles, think they are way overpriced for what they are.
-
I like it everyone has their own personal custom impreza, everyone's engine bays all have something different too, interesting that yours has uk style plates even though it's an import, was that how it came when you got it?
-
I was left to fend them off on my own! Hope you can come out next time
-
These are the ones I bought: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hood-Bonnet-Damper-Strut-Shock-Lift-Up-Kit-For-Subaru-Impreza-WRX-STI-GB7-GB8-/321294838137?hash=item4aceaa2979:g:wPIAAMXQVT9Szv8N Had them on well over a year with no issues. You can get fancy carbon skinned ones in any colour from other suppliers but they are £85-100

Had a little fiddle on adobe photoshop on this one before getting some much needed sleep, will have a play with some of the other pics when I get time after work once I've got finished a few other things I need to get done
-
Woop woop, just need some noodle boxes to put on the wings now for the full jdm effect
-
Aye going to get her cleaned up when I get chance then take her for a good spin on some of my favourite local roads, your electronic jdm folding mirrors make me want them as I regularly fold mine in manually if I need to leave it parked up!

450 miles later and I'm home! It's been a long day 15hours! Was great to meet a few of you and put cars to faces. Was in a blue suby sandwich at the Angel of The North. Love the pics we all just need a set of coilovers now Group buy anyone?
-
Setting off in an hour to Andy Forrest it's the big day at last! :D Little pray that the car makes the 3.5 hour drive there safe and sound and the mapping goes well. Will report back later and we will let you guys know if we can meet up at all on the way back if your free.

Has Anyone Else Radiator Support Rotted Like This?
Hudson replied to Linx's topic in Subaru Impreza Club
Christ that is bad! Once a suby gets past 10years old it's advisable to lose the undertray as it speeds up rust areas on the subframe and front supports considerably unless it's all been rust protected very well. I recently gave all that area a coating of hammerite as mine was still all in one piece thankfully! My next to step is to have all the under of the car and arches cleaned up and given a treatment of dinitrol corrosion protection. Import car parts have the weld in part but have no stock on the shelf so you would need to ring them for availability https://www.importcarparts.co.uk/parts-info?id=11459&cat=96&sub=183&sec=349&var=85&dc=0&gen=&searchKey=&searchPart= -
it's like trying to fit a set of 114 pcd alloys on a 100 pcd hub... they won't fit... not compatible
-
Yay I win whats the prize I been painting today as this right hand rear window panels black paint had worn away and you could see the silvery metal underneath it in places. Been meaning to do it for ages and got it done today since it's my day off and it was lovely outside, serviced and rebuilt my brothers bike out in the sun in between coats too.
-
By any chance is it a bright fluorescent orange cocktail for your suby and maybe some oil too?
-
Be nice to see some of you so I hope to go if we can get a few going
-
Welcome nice looking wrx you got there! What performance mods you got hiding in your bay? :)
-
I guess that's one way to look at it, if you do that and it all's fits ok hope your other exhaust sells in good time :)
-
Is it worth the hassle and cost of the extra adaptors and cone gaskets to get it on now and driving it like a granny or to wait a bit till mapping
-
I got advised Motul Inugel Optimal as a top of line coolant that is compatible with subaru's picky coolant choices, the capacity is supposed to be 7 litres so I got 2x5 litres to have a bit spare and it's done fine so far. It's all premixed too so just flush out the old and poor it straight in. http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-903-motul-inugel-optimal-car-antifreeze-coolant-ready-to-use.aspx

This is why I did all my decat in one go a week before mapping as the only bit of driving I will be doing leading up to the mapping is to get the fuel tank very low and give it a full fresh tank of v-power, had my decat up pipe and down pipe sat in my garage for nearly a year while whoring other parts haha, it definitely throws a cel on newage as got one on mine but I haven't suffered any limp mode or anything. Fitting an aftermarket air filter and doing away with the panel filter and box could also leave your car running poorly without a tune. If you do fit it just be wary to stay off boost as much as possible till you do get it mapped. Personally I would wait till you get nearer being able to get it mapped so you don't get tempted to test out that new exhaust note :P
-
Halfords sell it so you can use that 15% discount on it :) If you want to clean the i/c just be careful round it and stay well away from the fins
-
most of the newage upto 07 are effected by the airbags I think, the lower arms recall are if you have the steel ones which I think sti all have alloy
-
Day8 progress: Absolutely chuffed, bar a few seized bolts on the old turbo and exhaust that I needed a hand getting off it's all my own work and it's now ready to go to Andy Forest for mapping! Over the moon it's all running ok. It's been a busy weeks work. Picture below of it stripped out last week and the end result!

I know Nextbase dashcams are on adrian flux's list as I got one in mine and they said that's one they approve
-
it definitely needs flushing and new coolant in it, is the oil dip stick frothy or milky at all? A compression test would rule out the head gasket, if it's not head gasket I'd just say rust has mixed with the coolant
