  1. It's all gonna blow up in a fury of !Removed! flinging 😂 I'm sure we are all more than capable of being polite and civil in voicing our opinions. We all had a group hug and despite not everyone agreeing atleast we can share freely.
  2. No flaming. Personal opinion. Wouldn't ever tell someone to avoid a company based on my own opinion. Question was genuine 😊 Bait won't be taken sandals [emoji476]
  3. Sound like a broken record now...bring your cheque book, prepare for more to be wrong with you car than you ever imagine and don't leave it alone with them. Does they guy that damaged that other fellas motor still work for clinic tidgy?
  4. It doesn't seem to matter who or which company you use. There always seems to be negativity surrounding them.
  5. We have a Xmas meet this Saturday at 6pm. Galleon Blvd, Dartford DA2 6QL You're more than welcome to pop by.
  6. May have changed since my map. Can only quote facts from my own experience. Won't ever say my mate said this or forum said that. Either way you go about it be very careful andake sure your car is running tip top condition or else the map may uncover gremlins that were already there just now more obvious.
  7. Had my car mapped by Duncan April 2015. Minor boost limit issue which was sorted within 2 weeks when he came to my house and not had any issues whatsoever. He is difficult to get hold of. Tuners are far too cliquey here. Let's avoid another flame war though eh?
  8. Wow thats terrible. I was always under the impression it was women that pay less for insurance. You're right in saying credit score shouldn't have an impact on ability and history of driving even more so when you haven't suggest a type of finance plan by paying monthly.
  9. I always keep my old filters and plugs too because you never know 😂 She hates it. Just a bag full of old service parts.
  10. Iirc I paid £37 for my panel filter. It may just be dirty looking and flow barely effected but for the sake of 40 a year I'll happily replace it knowing the cars breathing the best it can. If I'm spending £60/oil service every 3k I'm sure it won't hurt 😇 Just to add the Cosworth panel filter is a dry type filter. I'd never go for.or advise using an oily filter. Murders the MAF.
  11. Do plenty of research on who you decide to use. I have a family friend mechanic or try to do most myself. Maybe get some tools for Xmas? 😊
  12. Bring a cheque book, prepare for a lot more to be wrong with your car than you ever imagined and if you do decide to leave it with them make sure they don't joy ride it. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3404946/Subaru-owner-s-anger-garage-staff-pothole-video.html
  13. Stripped mine out as it was leaking. Minor weight save but every little helps. And a free upgrade. One less belt for the engine to drive too. Tiny minimal effect on mpg and power delivery 😂 F1 teams spend millions shaving off grams so I reckon taking air-con out is equivalent of a million dollar mod.
  14. I use the same cosworth drop in filter. Just personal opinion but I class it as a 12 month 12k mile service item along with plugs. Mine didn't look too bad but I'm strict on servicing.
  15. Flashing is the term used to describe a generic map that "worked" on one Impreza onto your car. Obviously that map isn't unique to your car and your injectors may function slightly different or you may use a different fuel so get more/less knock. Either way flashing a map on isn't wise.
  16. Could be numerous things. Simple spark plug replacements, MAF sensor, boost pipes, solenoid and escalating in severity from there. "never bothered me" "cheap, easy fix" "probably something simple" some of the most overused blags I've ever known on car trading pages. Chances are they know what it is hence the cheap and quick sale needed 😂
  17. Has this place mapped Impreza's before? Map it then dyno before you go burning around risking a lean AFR. Should only cost around £50.
  18. TD04 may get you to 280 at an absolute push but that is limit of the turbos ability. Most see 260-270
  19. Not entirely true. You could look at having no pill in there now as the largest pill size and that's causing issues. The ecu will try to keep it within its parameters of in your case knock it all down as a precaution.
  20. I own a turbo 2000 on an X reg(2000). They're not the most comfortable in the range of impreza but can be used as a daily. UK spec Impreza start at 211-218hp depending on where you get your info. On the UK spec td04 turbo with all supporting mods it will run out of puff at maximum 280hp if you're lucky. I managed to get 276hp. If you can find a well looked after model then bang for buck it's the best value performance car available. I paid £1350 for mine 2 years ago when it was on 158k miles. Now on 173k and biggest repair was a gearbox input shaft seal. Work did cost me £510 but I had a lot of work out parts replaced while the box was out and apart. I've taken it round silverstone and a couple of runs at Santa pod. I agree with what you say, the older cars being cheaper are easy to snap up, throw a horrible body kit on it before blowing it up and selling it on. You may have trouble with insurance so check it.out first before you buy with your heart. Especially if you consider modifying it. As far as mods go, there's plenty around and always spares available. I paid £100 for a turbo back decat 3" zorst. Quick post really so is a bit sporadic. Any questions don't hesitate to ask 😁
  21. What engine is in your car? We can find the original size and source a replacement.
  22. Sharing an image from Google. This is the pill. If you have removed it, it will cause boost issues. Do you still have the pipe that contains the pill?
  23. Original was 4 disc but classed as one game so paid a reasonable price.
