  1. If they're fitting a new ecu I'd let them try to sort it first. Sounds like a sensor issue. 0.7bar is safe running mode. Failing that sounds like you're losing your pressure through some kind of air leak. Check exhaust gaskets or and boost pipes.
  2. Ha yeah rods, pistons and anything else you can dream of. Have everything checked out and within tolerance. Last thing you want is to replace bearings on a worn crank. Head skim and any other machine work that needs doing.
  3. Usual cause of bottom end failure would be continuous use while low on oil. Could also be caused by an extended period of time between services. If the car hasn't been warmed up correctly and raced around it could cause big end damage. Age is a factor but it would be tough to pinpoint an exact cause. What oil was put in for this recent service?
  4. Welcome to the club. What did you buy?
  5. The warranty company should be able to point you to some local garages that will happily comply with them.
  6. If you have warranty best to leave it be and have them pay for the fixes.
  7. Sounds like an immobiliser/alarm issue if you're not getting dash lights.
  8. Didnt see your post savage, tapatalk unsubscribe me sometimes. Thank you for your reply. First off, got it sorted now. Tried numerous temp earths and no joy. Tried different head units. Took out a spare speaker and held wires on each speaker out from radio no joy. Then...unplugged the speaker loom and the spare worked!!! Hacked the loom and tested each speaker individually to find the rear passenger has failed. Reconnected all speakers bar that one. It was easier to cut the loom than start taking door cards off. All sorted for now on 3 speakers. Gonna find some replacements but I'm on a buying ban due to coilovers and braces. Bit of a strange one indeed.
  9. Bit of a strange one this. May be unrelated but I fitted my upper front strut brace today and after driving for a few minutes my speakers started to drop in and out. I've got the centre console out and tested resistance on all four speakers with a good steady number so I can rule out broken looms. It's not even one speaker each time it's all four together. My thoughts are considering a dodgy earth although voltage reads fine. It would answer why all 4 drop together. They're constantly off now unless I hit a bump in the road when they will come on for a split second. Could the strut brace have caused some kind of issue with earthing? My mind has been boggled.
  10. I'm not so sure about your alarm but it could be battery or start motor related at the minute. What year is the car? Do you hear any click click when turning the key to start the car?
  11. Fitted the upper front strut brace today. Had to run a few errands and somehow have lost all speakers. Swapped the head unit and no change. They didn't just die either, went on/off for a bit and now nothing 😱😓
  12. Yeah anti roll bar. If you want proxes T1R there are a couple on eBay 205/50/16 for £215ish and 205/55/16 £160ish.
  13. New head studs yup. Check the crank for wear. Have a check of the oil pump and water pump depending on age consider replacements. While you're at it just forge the whole thing [emoji16] [emoji12] [emoji23] [emoji8]
  14. Second that savage, rear arb is a must. Made a world of difference.
  15. That's an impreza wagon, 2.0l turbo. Possibly MY99, WRX, 5 speed manual.
  16. Wahoo events inbound. Strut braces arrived today [emoji41] might have a go at fitting them tomorrow. Really want the coils on too [emoji16] [emoji16] [emoji16]
  17. I have eagle gsd3 on at the minute and would always go back to them but they seem to have discontinued my size so found a reaosnably priced set of prizes T1R that I will go for. Heard toyos have soft sidewalls though? That's the only thing holding me back.
  18. It's generally accepted as a rule, if the engine is open new bottom end at the same time. New bearings and the like.
  19. I'm on 205/50/16 and find the handling superb but a lot will be governed by tyre choice. If you go for a budget tyre with soft sidewalls you'll find a very boaty ride through corners.
  20. Nardi wheels are usually on imports. Red seats and rear wiper?
  21. It depends on the width of your rim. Too small and the tyre will be stretched. I'm sure if you were to take it to a tyre fitter they will be able to advise if they will fit before starting the work.
  22. Fair do. What do we think for a reasonable drop in height?
  23. You'll have fun with the rocker gaskets. You have two to do. Need tiny little hands to fit down the side if you're not lifting the engine. Recently done one side myself. Perfectly doable driveway job.
  24. Got home to the question "what have you been buying?" Couldn't contain my excitement. Struggled to get in the box. But ta da well chuffed. Overall condition is brilliant. Noticed some black rust like marks on the shock. I'll try to polish them up if not back they go. I'm hoping they are all good.
