For my 2.0 na auto box i spent £70 on oil - used castrol ATF auto gearbox oil from opie oils and flushed through myself. It may not be a direct comparison but possibly a point of reference.

These days I do not have a clue the prices seem to be going bonkers - a couple of years back I was looking at Type R's at 8k wondering why P1's were going for 10-12k?? Today I saw a Type R (Almost original) advertised for 29K - that was 22b money a few years back!! 😲 If you are looking for top dollar I would go through it back to front, paint correction / detailing spend a few hundred quid getting it immaculate, take lots of high res photos to market it and be prepared to wait for the right buyer, it is not a turbo model so wont appeal to the wider audience but you may get a collector interested

I looked into this for towing a caravan with an impreza, Subaru do mention in their blurb about reducing the interval between transmission oil changes and the use of an oil cooler for auto boxes if towing regularly or for long distance

I am assuming the usual online market checkers have not come back with anything so I would recommend one of the brokers, give them a call directly. I used Sky who are now called Safely Insured. Check your auto box before taking the pan off as it might not have an internal filter - I was all set to do the same to my 2.0r auto impreza and discovered there were x2 types of auto box.

just had a look at the specs - 182bhp fopr a 2.5l I assume at that its a non turbo lump. The RX I had was 150bhp on a 2.0 lump, I felt there could have been more from it but at quite a bit of expense. dependant on how long you keep it you could drop in a WRX lump, bump it up to a reliable 250 bhp 😁

No you houdl be fine with the way you have treated that motor

I think that is canbus - I suggest getting and odb reader and see if you can get the speed to come up on your phone (with an app) that will tell you if it getting generated no problem so issue with dash or connection to dash

What year is the Foz - could be a cable, could be VSS from abs rings (CANbus)

not heard of these failing due to age unless the car has been sat for a long period with no use then you tend to have oil leaks to deal with as well - if you are concerned remove part of the cover and see if the belt is cracking. I change mine at 35-40k buuut I do get the peace of mind feeling so if it will make you feel better there is no reason you shouldn't. Instead though I would consider a brake fluid flush and transmission oil change instead - easy bit of preventative maintenance and brake fluid absorbs water over time. Give your brake calipers a clean and ensure all pistons are free.

Wotcha and welcome - I am not familar with the Subaru diesel plant but at thise revs I woudl check the MAF also have any codes been generated - they dont all trigger a warning light. Blowing noise from the turbo means you could have a split pipe somewhere

yup marketing is not great in the UK they do seem to be changing their target market though away from sport

I like those years from a looks perspective and the petrol engines are pretty solid - price on yours, have not got a clue as prices at the moment seem to be all over the place

Finally got around to paint correction on the drivers side, removed a lot of swirls and scratches on door / wing

Fitted some gauges Oil pressure, oil temp I fitted some time back under the turbo cyl 1 in preparation Sensor wires ready to be routed through bulkhead Some shrouding and the access sorted In place and through to under the dash gauge pod, gauges and showing the link cable will not reach Creating a patch lead Heat solder joints Plenty of length now Extending the power supply in the same way I connected the power supply to the appropriate feeds used for the stereo and routed the sensor leads from under the dash up behind the console, then fitted the new surround from South Coast Flocking One of my side repeaters was cracked so replaced with some Alibaba led specials before During After will try and upload a video... I could not tell from that vid - it could be the AC pump, could be power steering? You could try unhooking each of the belts and see if the noise is still there?

Opt for an exhaust system with a resonator as well as a back box silencer, that will lower the noise and be less cost than a sports cat also no issue with the ECU map

Great to hear - many see advantages of mapping a standard car as the factory map is a compromise
