  1. Wotcha and welcome - Thanks for sharing. I know all sorts of lights come on when the car drops into limp mode cruise is one of them
  2. Wotcha and welcome - A very nicely turned out hatch that. I think we have only had a couple of members with those join, one was in IoM and suffered an engine failure haven't heard anything for a while.
  3. Similar conversations with my lad - may suggestion was to track the more powerful car and have a more age friendly motor to build up no claims and get him around.
  4. That's still reasonable with H&S also having a good reputation
  5. ahhh didnt know that - have not purchased one for a couple of years, duly noted
  6. Always good to hear about a great service experience
  7. my 2p I would replace the exhaust with a turbo back stainless steel option, include a sports cat and have a system that will last you for as long as you have the car. I have purchased cobra systems for x3 different cars now, never been disappointed. https://cobrasport.com/collections/subaru-impreza-exhaust/model_wrx-sti-turbo-2001-07
  8. Wotcha and welcome - Shame your new motor let you down so quickly. Never seen anything like that myself
  9. Great post - spigot rings, a small cost but often overlooked
  10. I have 2.5l decatted imprezas and they pass MOT no problem. I do try and keep it all combusting right - good plugs and fuel etc but no issues so far
  11. @savage bulldogs one for you chum?
  12. That is great to hear - result!

Depends where you are - TDR Warwick do servicing as well as tuning, Area 52 Notts, Sheffield Subaru Services I had a quick look at the service schedule for your motor and it looks like you are down for a transmission fluid replacement. That oil will cause an increase over a standard engine oil and filter change. I spent £250 on transmission oil alone from OPIE to do mine myself
  14. Wotcha and welcome - Sounds like you have a wealth of experience with Subarus. Feel free to share pictures get stuck in etc all friendly on here
  15. A few photos and I am sure some of the members will be able to identify it no problem
  16. gaaaaah!!!! If only these had come up 3 weeks ago 😡 Good luck with the sale
  17. Hi links and photos are always welcome - we are unfortunately in an era of spoon feeding information so the easier you make it the higher your chances of a sale
  18. Very interesting - useful feedback
  19. Wotcha and welcome - sounds like it was well worth the round trip, feel free to share pictures ask questions etc. All friendly on here
  20. Are your tyres oversize?
  21. Wotcha and welcome - I dont think the bumpers are too hard to fit on imprezas in general, it helps to have a second pair of hands when presenting the bumper to the car to avoid dropping and damage
  22. Wotcha and welcome - it does seem like someone has made a change - probably when the SLS failed. Have a look at the Pedders solution as it is designed to replace the SLS so should give you the correct height https://pedders.co.uk/info-subaru-forester
  23. I have not driven one but my 2008 N/A auto was ok to drive but did hold onto the revs when you were driving, I often used the semi auto option to change the gears myself or to hold it on a gear if I was negotiating a set of roundabouts
  24. I tend to sit an idle for a bit after a drive do tend to cruise the last few miles as well - learnt the hard way years ago with a 200sx that had an oil supply line routed around the engine as a consequence (even with me sitting for a while after a drive) oil crystallised in the line restricting flow and killing the turbos
  25. I would want to know how the water got to it in the first place? Where it is located it shouldn't sit in water unless water is at least 3cm deep in the foot well of the car
