  1. Wotcha and welcome - Some of the older cars suffer from a rusted filler pipe to the tank so may not be a fuel seal. Check what exhaust has been put on as I believe there are x2 cats, if it is a full prodrive system the lower cat may already be removed. Here is an example of the other cat removal pipe http://scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=24_53&products_id=447 I would recommend doing your oil, filter and plugs before you get a remap the you know teh state of your consumables before it hits the rollers 😀👍
  2. Wotcha and welcome - not seen that motor before so unfortunately cannot offer any more - what mods has it has out of interest?
  3. Wotcha and welcome - keep us posted as may be useful for other members
  4. Wotcha and welcome - feel free to jump right in all friendly on here!!
  5. Wotcha and welcome - does sound like you have picked up a neglected model, shame
  6. Wotcha and welcome - with teh drive by wire throttle you should also be able to map in flat foot shifting and antilag should you desire
  7. Wotcha and welcome Steve - that is a very desirable motor, wouldn't mind one myself and dont worry about the Evo - When I found Mitsubishi manufactured switches in my scoob I realised they were both very closely related I haven't seen a Mica blue Type R for some time, 18 months I think, been keeping an eye out and even then I did not know if it was original or had been resprayed. So IMO will be a case of keeping an eye out - and now you have flagged it on the forum that may help as well
  8. Wotcha and welcome. Here is a thread with a load of good advice in general With the 08 onwards ones check for rear arch rust - it collects there as well, panels are thin so look along the car on the roof line, the upper rear qtr panel can sometimes be pushed in. You can get clunks from the front top mounts and suspensions struts, slow rolling forwards and backwards then braking will throw these out. Usual stuff around full service. Interior trim paint is really thin check the door card handle grips and console trays where keys will have been placed for damage - small negotiating point get a proper 4 wheel alignment done and consider a remap for optimum fuelling through the range and ringland failure protection (not necessarily power) Keep us posted as to your progress
  9. Wotcha and welcome - All friendly on here, you seem to have some great ideas there feel free to set up a project thread and keep a camera handy for progress shots 😀👍
  10. Wotcha and welcome - are they the w5w bulbs - if so yes I would replace them
  11. yup went through this the other week - I was advised it is impacting legacy models more than imprezas but if there is an issue it is an all day job to replace teh lines as rear axle needs to be dropped and the cars interior carpet needs to come out
  12. Looking great - some real progress there

  15. Apparently it affects legacies more - it is the metal hoses that run to the rear of the car, where they come out from inside the car there is a protective shield that sometimes does not cover all of the metal piping leading to corrosion. If it does need doing it means back axle off all interior out to replace the pipes - all day job Chap at the Subaru garage reckoned they had done over 200 inspections and only found 1 that required changing but Subaru have been covering all the expenses
  16. Completed the safety recall inspection - no issues, apparently it has been more of an issue on Legacies not Imprezas. Mechanic thought it amusing when I asked the chap in the Subaru showroom why they had a picture of a Ferrari F1 car on the wall? Don't think that I was the first person to ask that 😆

    I would support this
  18. Yup holes are getting ridiculous - KFord tyres reckon they can sort the alloys at £45 a corner as they were not cracked, they have bought a new machine purely because of the amount of damage they were seeing coming in. Likewise ill keep an eye out
  19. hmmm well fingers crossed it comes through and quite rightly needs to be confirmed electronically or on paper
