  1. In both the STi and the RX you can feel it when you turn the aircon on - there is a slight drop in power, may not impact mpg but you just get there slightly slower

    looking good there matey
  3. As above - 2008 on have issues - although I had none with mine. The Subaru map / patch was supposed to address it but many 330's still failed - we also had a CS400 owner on here who potentially had the same thing - I would recommend an aftermarket map specific to the car itself. Plenty of cars have been sorted so you have the opportunity to get something that will be reliable. Some failures were also attributed to oil starvation so if you are looking to spend time cornering hard and with consistent high revs look at a baffled sump or even a dry sump solution. Other than that great cars and I am looking forward to owning another
  4. West Mids me
  5. @Owen369 - something to bear in mind / take advantage of??
  6. OK completed some research and all pulls came out around 11.0 - 11.1 - 11.2 etc Irrespective of mode the 0-60 relies a lot on 1st gear Sport mode doesn't give any more power just hangs onto the gears longer So 11.0 - 11.5 is your lot
  7. all sent to test you chum
  8. what tools do you need?
  9. can you see down to the pad and disc surface? - if possible look to see if the small gap increases or decreases as you rotate the wheel hub and disc
  10. Is the knocking cyclic with speed of wheel turning? - not familiar with setup but is the handbrake linked to main caliper or a drum type setup on inside of disc or applying pads to disc normally? do you have a dial gauge as I have had a similar thing and turned out to be a slightly warped disc?
  11. I believe the center insert is the same across the models - The STI bumper is wider to blend with flared arches. Yes the Zunsport option fits over the front of the lower holes but behind the upper holes and inside bonnet scoop
  12. ODB adapter turned up today so will be playing with the Dyno app
  13. I just make ptssssh sounds in mine when it changes gear
  14. The map will be fine as it takes the relation between engine revs, throttle position and fuelling etc at a given point into consideration - yes the inertial weight has been lowered so it take less power to make the rotary movement and as such will spin slightly easier but fuelling will be appropriate as the speed increases / decreases
  15. I saw the same - most enjoyable - mind you they did replace the standard ford lump with a US turbo V6 beasty, which they then tweaked a little . The RX hatch has a front end that is more plastic than holes so you should be able to trade off one against the other by substituting a wrx or sti item and maintain enough airflow
  16. Yup its an easy job to remove the bumper and then you can get to the back of the grills no issue - replacing with an sti item is an option (badges come off easily enough) carbon fibre option here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Carbon-Fiber-Front-Mesh-Grill-Grille-for-2008-2011-2010-Subaru-Impreza-WRX-STi-/221802714469?hash=item33a478d565:g:PO0AAOSw~OdVgDUG
  17. The 2-3K is more likely the exhaust - resonance / back pressure waves etc, a back box as suggested would go some to smoothing that but exhaust powervalves were invented because of that flat spot
  18. Def sounds exhaust related to me - when you get your lass to rev it watch your hand as those gases get hot, I learnt the hard way finding a blown head to manifold gasket on a 200sx. As mentioned previously check the plugs are in place - but if the air movement is up close to the nuts on the manifold it will be gasket or manifold
  19. Ahhh I see you already have...
  20. Got a similar one on mine - I put it down to a water catch tank, hadn't figured on an air reservoir. Is your motor struggling at the moment - have you got a high flow panel filter fitted?
  21. Try a thread in the parts for sale section, some want spare wheels for winter or track day tyres
  22. Jay762 replied to jschatt's topic in Subaru Impreza Club
Currently running Conti sport contacts - better than the Toyo Proxes and Yokohamas they replaced - although the Yokos were not a particularly sporty variety
  23. Nope - ODB device has not arrived yet.... Ill let you know when it has
  24. As above chum - do you have designs on a different model?
