Heater ventilation aircon
You do need to run the aircon regularly, hot in winter as well as cool in summer - helps keep seals lubricated, stops them drying out going hard and then leaking

New BRZ
Wotcha and welcome - sounds like you are in for a real treat as the N/A engine on those really comes into its own higher up the rev range. Feel free to get stuck in - all friendly on here and keep a camera handy for the pick up

Impreza 2.0 RX Auto
depends on what you would like to spend. filter, de/sports cat, free flow pipe is low end but as it is N/A the returns are not going to be huge but with a map you will get the 2.0 lump running as it should not restricted to manufacturing / Euro regs. You could look at a full lightening and blueprinting of the engine - lumpy cams, ported + flowed heads (possibly bigger valves dont know??) etc that will get you more but will start to hike the cost. I have been contemplating the idea of a 2.5 lump replacement without the turbo setup. power to weight ratio is a good low cost approach - remove or replace heavy items Buuuut the chassis is setup up for comfort not speed so gains can be had by stiffening it up (shocks ARB etc), replacing standard discs + pads (possibly braided hoses) to improve the braking capability (they are not bad as standard and give better feel than my STI but do fade under enthusiastic driving) I have just ordered the ODB and app so will have a crack at the 0-60 times as the standard auto box change program is not great - I checked with Subaru, there are no modification (PAK) files to change / improve it. So that 0-60 of 11.5 may be in standard auto mode. Ill do a run in Sport auto and also me manually operating the box

Impreza 2.0 RX Auto
Couldnt tell you the 0-60 it can get a hustle on if you put in sport mode or use the manual mode - Buuuuut its an N/A 2.0 so whilst there is acceleration its not a rocket ship, it is faster than the 2.0 N/A mazda 3 sport we had at one point but it cannot hold a candle to the 330bhp STI hatch - power to weight ratios may be worth comparing to the X5 though. When you do test drive at some point put it in manual mode and hold in second or third dependant on speed or road options then floor it (obviously not screaming its head off). Or hold in third then drop to 2nd and floor it

Impreza 2.0 RX Auto
Because the plan is to hand this car to the inlaws when we get some boost back in our lives - they can only drive autos now and want something that will tow a caravan no issues. Whilst this car has all the great benefits of Subaru 4WD and chassis so reassuring handling, control, stopping etc It is not what I would call a 'drivers' car - there is a flappy paddle column mount I am looking at - sourced from JPN - which would make the driving experience a little more interesting but overall the whole setup is softer than the STI so still has elements of compromise. Why are you looking at this car?

Impreza 2.0 RX Auto
It is quite different to your previous motor. I believe you will find it a softer ride with more body roll plus the steering rack has a different ratio to your bug. After a quick drive this evening I can say that whilst cruising the car tends to use between 2K-3K with 50/60 both being 2K and 80 being 3K here is the throttle position cruising at that speed, you can see there is no great load on the engine (this was on a medium uphill gradient as well) Here is what it sounds like

Went a bit mad
Looks good, wasn't originally a fan of stickers but they are growing on me

Impreza 2.0 RX Auto
Not really - the manifolds are different and there is no turbo so the sound is different. However it is nothing like as hollow as the Honda or Toyota in line fours. At the moment I have a standard exhaust which is on its way out so the sound is currently improving but will be replacing with an aftermarket unit which will eliminate the mid section resonator increasing the levels slightly but nothing offensive. Saying that though the STI Hatch I had previously wasn't as 'burbly' as some of the blobs bugs and classics I have encountered - however it only had a prodrive backbox attached to a standard Subaru system. There are a couple of conversations on here about the possibility of 08 onwards cars all having equal length headers which means no burble - unfortunately I never got as far as investigating the manifold on the STI

Impreza 2.0 RX Auto
Had an 2.0 RX auto for about 18 months now. It has no issues cruising on the motorway. The auto box gets you into 4th most of the time whilst driving around as a default. There is a manual shift option allowing you to select the gears - keeping it in 3rd helps to get a more responsive drive with no 'thinking moments' or kick downs when you put your foot down. The motor is limited electronically to 126mph but allegedly it is pulling just over 6k revs at that point and with a 7k redline there is not much more to go

What have you done to your Subaru today ?
Finally got around to a full clean and polish, been aiming to do it for a few weeks now. Just finished the wax layer and wiping away drips from tyre dressing when SWMBO arrives with kids grabs keys and drives off Tried Meguires compound for first time today - its good but it does take more work to remove the road smears / grease spots than a clay bar - would be ideal if I hadn't left it so long between cleans I imagine.
