  6. Wotcha and welcome - having ridden shotgun in that motor I know it can get a shift on - however those lights (effectively a couple of birthday candles) would need some attention, for sure Gambit was navigating using the force that night

  10. Wotcha and welcome - love a hatch me
  11. Wotcha and welcome. few things with the hatch at 40k it may have had the belts changed if it has check for the pulleys and pump done as well. Top mounts can fail check for clunking when slowly rolling back and forth then braking the nuts behind the sound blanket under the bonnet can rust leading to the bonnet corroding the scuttle panel can get loads of crud behind it if it has been left under trees etc get a torch and look where windscreen wiper motor mounts are. there is the subaru lip over the rear wheels where crud collects check for any bubbling on the inside which will come through to the outside. Paint on the interior door cards is thin by the window controls etc check for, if shabby a point for negotiation but cheap to flatten back and blow over. keep us posted on progress
  12. Wotcha and welcome feel free to get stuck in all friendly on here

  14. Wotcha and welcome!!
  15. I thought there was a setting you can change via the dash options that would stop that - dependant on year though
  16. Wotcha and welcome - feel free to post questions in the appropriate areas - that way they tend to get a better response
  17. keep us posted as this may be something other members have yet to come across
  18. not seen that - may have to get a copy
  19. Scooby in its natural habitat
  20. It would depend on how you want the car to feel - If it was me I would go for a mild upgrade but no the full solid track orientated one - Think they are the black super pro ones not the purple so you get slightly stiffer but not rattle your fillings out

As above check breakers and post a wanted thread in the forum section
  22. Hi it can make your car run rich yes as the air reading passing the MAF has already sent a signal to the ECU which is fuelling for that volume which you are now letting out of the system. Scoobies are set up as standard to run slightly rich as well to compensate for being used with varying fuel quality around different locations. A trip to a dyno would be money well spent and with a good map you could see an improvement in fuel economy plus midrange drive
  23. Set your budget for the engine (then add 10% contingency). Look at forged internals, replacing the crank bearings and upgrade the engine bolts. Consider replacing the oil pickup with a reinforced item and also fit a sump baffle - that way you reduce the risk of oil starvation lunching your engine.
  24. If you were not going the way you are planning with a proper map an electronic boost is a way of tweaking but as you are going for a map save your money
