  1. Power increase per extra pound gets lower and lower as you go up the power level. Wait till you aim for 500 lol Getting power isnt difficult, kepping reliability isnt so easy.
  2. even turbos are tbh, well bar the 2.5 lol there so easy to tune tends to be when people start to up the power they go wrong, right supporting mods can make a big difference to that mind you
  3. what ron fuel can you get, 97?
  4. Assuming your car is an 03 sti then standard engine will cope fine with 400. so its basic bolt on bits Turbo (sc42 or similar) BIgger injectors (700's) Cold air induction kit (wing mounted) Full decat Headers up pipe front mount possibly a oil cooler kit (thermosticly controlled), heat may be an issue 3 port boost solenoid and personaly i would go aftermarket ecu, alcatek or syvecs is best option but ain't cheap. to anwer your question, yes you will need a bigger turbo, v35 wont run 400.
  5. welcome, a scoob is a scoob. Turbo or no turbo. None turbo models are pretty renowned for being one of the most reliable cars on the market :)
  6. Tip to save some money for folks. Unlike other cars, subaru water pumps are pretty bullet proof. It isn;t a service item and if its not broke just leave it be. Seems to be few people talkign about replacing it when they do a cambelt. Its not required to be replaced and not a service item The one in my old classic was at least 10 years old and would be even older if the new owner didnt roll it and kill it. CUrrent car looks to hve origional wter pump still and its 17 years and 105,000 miles old. Save yer money peeps. leave it be :)
  7. whast the spec of the car? NGK but which one will depend on spec
  8. how old are you? £1200 for insurance seems pretty steep (unless young whiper snapper of course lol)
  9. DOnt need to bother changing the water pump or the oil pump unless there broke. should save a few pennys
  10. As above, little to no point. Gonna be a big expence for very poor gains compared with a wrx. Best bet wait, get another year of no claims + save the difference and then look into it.

  20. you do know who maps at clinic?
  21. I think who people trust is very subjective, andy forrest has had some choice words to say about Duncan and personally i wouldn't trust him. But he's well aware of that I've used clinic for years and always will, some of the job's i have seen that have come from other so called specialists have been abysmal. Do clinic make mistakes now and again as well? yes, there only human, but all it takes is a phone call or a quick visit to put right and they bend over backwards to sort it. As far as needing a map after changing exhaust, bit dependant if its cat change or not. Prices always seem to be a hotly debated subject though, i do know what clinic charge for a map and why plus it is always a fixed amount, If it takes 2 or 5 hours to map is the same price, bear in mind clinic use a subcontract mapper to do most of their mapping and he has a set fee. I hear story's now and again about 'overcharing' then when you find out what's actually happened it isn't as simple, typical one is go in for x and y,z and D are found to also be an issue, now is that over charging or rectifying genuine faults? I think you can say the same about allot of places in that sense as well. You pays yer money you takes your choice :) Although it is ironic that if you show loyalty now adays you get flak for it lol
  22. Couple of responces to tony's reply gone up now
