Yeah, the stricter the rules the more expensive it is to develop.
Currently you have to spend £10,000 to get 0.001% better performance. When there's very few rules a good idea costing 10p can make the car 1% quicker, innovation is the key to F1.
F1 governance don't seem to have a clue how to solve the problems they are having with dropping viewing figures, but it ain't rocket science.
They need to realise flat out speed won't draw the crowds anymore, its all about wheel to wheel, close racing. There on about increasing downforce to make the cars faster. I can tell you now that wont work, its an issue now due to cars not being able to get by the car in front due to downforce being lower when following a car, you need to have at least a second a lap advantage to pass at the min. They need to reduce downforce and increase the use of mechnical grip to allow that to happen.
