  1. Best bet is have a chat with them and see whats best route for cost vs spec vs what you want from it
  2. The oJust to add, the oinly downside of a JDM is it wont have the burble of a uk due to the differing headers on it (equal vs unequal), unequal in the UK giving it the noticable burble
  3. Welcome. First off the JDM models are higher spec than uk models. The 2.0 in the jdm is a much much stronger engine than the 2.5. the 330s will have the 2.5 so can suffer the same ring land issues. Between the two i;d bve all over the JDM like rash where as the 330's i'd be straight in for a set of pistons. While they dont all fail despite what somepeople claim, there track record is not good and personaly i wouldnt want to risk it.
  4. lmao, jolly green lovster, epic. Have you spoken to them about it? what history is with it?
  5. If your having a build set of forged rods shouldn't add to much, iirc there about £600 for a set of mahl.
  6. need to get it plugged in to find out the fault code, i;d drive it as little as possible and if you do have to drive it very very gently and low revs and no boost
  7. noice noice, got the afr boost graph? japseed core is ok, mixed reviews on the pipework as far as it being a direct fit.

did you dig out the graph chap?
  9. On a hawk i wouldn't bother with any TD series, there getting long in the tooth and too many knock offs out there. £180 for a turbo is 1/5 of what i would expect to pay for a decent one. VF35 would be a good one or if you wanna go after market a sc36.

    got the graph?

i wouldnt push the 2.5 block to 500 without some mods to it. Where did the 420 figure come from?
  12. hahaha, fair enough :D

cool, what turbo did you go for?
  14. So battery is fooked on the type R, went to start it this morning and its dead as a dodo. The question is, what to go for. Can pick one up on Eurocarparts for about £80 with decent crank amps. Or i can spend a bit more for an optima red top or similar sort of thing from somewhere else. What do folks recomend and wheres best place to get one from?
  15. for 350bhp the standard block will be fine. standard crank will be ok as well. its at the upper limit of the wrx pistons and rods though. I wouldn't use a general dogs body garage for a rebuild, find a decent specialist who knows what there doing with subaru engines.

    what specs the car?
  17. While heads are off may as well get the crank bearings changed, your 80% of the way there so may as well do em. What spec very much depends on budget. Do you have a budget in mind?
  18. dad bought hius about 9 months ago and im seriously tempted by one to replace my daily hack. Comes with tyre inflator crap rather than a spare, but you can buy an oiptional spare, but it raises the boot floor up. I find the seats pretty comfortable in it, but its always a personal thing with seats so i'd go sit in one and see what you think. Other option is the forrester which is its big brother
  19. Pretty sure that's where a friend of mine bought hers from, had a couple of issues with it but the guy was stand up and sorted them so very good experience with them all in all
  20. scoobyclinic did have a nice black widetrack in, not sure what the asking price was though, give em a bell mate see what they have cos they normaly have something in for sale.
  21. cant see a 'new content' clicky either? plus its reset subscription settings for users
  22. So had a slight issue with a screw in my tyre when i picked up the car, Couldn't be sorted on the day so im currently on a temp set of wheels while it sorted. Issue i have is i;ve never been mega keen on the wheels that were on it, so pondering on making the change permanent. Im not 100% on either set hence the question. this is the temp set, this is my current set
  23. Ah sorry, hadn't read it right, thought you meant it had got it.
  24. The hesitation is a concern, you say its got a boost controller. Has it actualy been mapped or have they just cranked up the boost?
