Headgasket on the 2.5's are a known weak point. Cheaper tax too apart from that I'm not sure as never looked into the sg &sh versions, 6k does sound a bit steep, is it a main dealer? Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk

Depends on what your after, the only real 'cheap' mods would be to start re bushing everything & swapping to harder mounts see if it still has the rubbish oem droplinks, uprating anti roll bars or changing pads/discs/braided lines if not already changed Most of the usual mods will have already done been in conjunction with the remap. I wouldn't worry about the two in the pics at the top, was the light grey one by the transmission tunnel ? Never found out what they are but I've always assumed they are for some form of diagnostic, The back one that looks like odb2 is probibaly the ssm1 connector,what year is your car ? You can get sandwich plates that fit between filter and block or adapted sump plugs that the sensor goes through, Most people get an adaptor that sits in one of the blocked of oil ways on top of the block. Lots of options Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk

Just run with the sidelights on, something to do with the way the alternator works by all accounts it only chagrges when it needs to, if you have the lights & radio on it will 'see' the usage and tell the alternator to start charging the battery Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk

Have a look at black diamond discs and pads I've just put a set of pads on standard discs and the difference is night and day, ebc seem to have mixed reviews on subaru's for some reason so although I've used them on other cars I thought I'd take a punt on something different. Maybe go braided lines and a brake booster for extra feel As for handling, what's your ultimate aim ? Have you considered just upgrading bit by bit ? Maybe start with droplinks & maybe a rear arb with proper geo set up and see how you get on, that way further down the line you can add springs or coilies, alk, etc etc if you feel the need.
