  1. Well it was no where near the claimed output but then again it's a twenty year old motor, so ended up with good hp gain and 50ft lbs of extra torque, [emoji16] and it makes peak output at just shy of 3.5k Oh and it was running very rich Afr of around 15.3 so now all in trim and the boost has been increased to 1.1 bar whoop !
  2. On the rollers at GR
  3. If its one thing that genuinely scares the hell out of me is being sat on the side of the motorway.
  4. Set off down the motorway within a mile I get a really jerky ride and gradual loss of power. Thought I had a caliper stuck. No smoke or smell, starting to worry as I have my daughter in the car. Look underneath the bonnet to see the ic top hose off I'd forgotten to tighten it up when I swapped the coolers over [emoji15]
  5. Yeah I reckon you'll be fine just don't go driving like a madman ipc usually have sensors instock, they are a little more than generic ones but I'd rather pay extra for peace of mind and a guarantee that it will work for longer than six months lol
  6. Look nicely done there mate, take it your going red/black theme all over then ?
  7. May !Removed! the timing if it thinks it's nocking or go into safe mode if it gets bad,

  9. Plenty of how to guides all over the Internet, cleaning out the solinoid is easy get some brake cleaner, put the car into diagnostic mode with green connectors under dash, take off vac pipes and spry in top hole for ages, don't forget to put a rag under bottom hole to catch the crap, Have you checked the diagnostic for error codes

He comes recommended has good results with new age cars a few members here have used him, I'm booked in tomorrow for a session with him on a classic so will let you know my thoughts
  11. How long you had the car ? Have the symptoms just started ? Basically if you lift the bonnet and look at the area to the left of the tmic you'll see the turbo housing there will be a small arm running from a round circular bit sticking out to the left bit like a very small biscuit tin check that this isn't obstructed. As for the solinoid follow the vacuum lines from the top of the turbo to the left hand suspension turret you'll see it attached to a bracket will be something a bit larger than a clipper lighter with at least two hoses coming out
  12. Hello welcome looks nice, Jay & scooby Pete are your best bet for hatch specs

  14. Waste gate sticking or actuator arm, boost solinoid clogged up ?

Turbo blanket may be worth a look, good for keeping the heat in the turbo for faster spool and exhaust, and even better for keeping heat out of the bay. I can just about touch the top of the blanket as it retains that much heat, and the under side of the i/c is cool to touch. I've also read that the scoop becomes inefficient at directing the airflow at 70+ unsure if how accurate this is though,
  17. Love that escort, so as a token offer will you be helping him build a new engine for it sav ?
  18. Good luck fitting the intake hose mate, they re a bit of a pig if you don't remove the manifold, space is tight
  19. Haha just interested to see what differences there were.
  20. Maybe worth testing the battery. Make sure it's holding charge
  21. I'm down at GR performance in Rotherham Monday I'll speak to them see what they charge for power runs etc if you want ?
  22. When does it come on boost compared to the 04 rick ?
