  1. Decided on a set of Michelin Cross Climates in 235 55 17. Got a good idea of how capable they were this evening. Gale force winds, drifting snow, minus 3 degrees etc and was pleased with how they performed. Very reasuring steering feel and braking characteristics on compacted snow.
  2. Subaru fitment (5x100) 19x7.5 alloys ET45 with unused Kumho Ecsta LE Sport 225x40x19 93Y XL tyres Perfect match (3mm difference) in rolling radius as a 225x45x18 Fully balanced with aluminum caps. One has slight markings on the face (see last 2 x photos) Fell over whilst taking pics Looking for £550 for the set. Pick up from North Wales or Chester Ref pic or tinterweb
  3. Door card label states 215x55x17 snow tyres on our XV (2014 model) Kept the winter set from my recently sold Legacy Spec B tourer which is in the above size. Sat on 17x7 et48 OE Forester XT alloys. Popped them on over the weekend for the anticipated eastern showers predicted Taking what looks to me like the original set of Geolanders off and shocked to see that all four tyres have a large amount of cracking on the shoulders. There is only about 2mm left on all four so will be looking at some all season very soon. Going for 235's this time so the speedo reads correct and for a little more cushion. Nokian Weatherproofs maybe ? Not really had snow on the island for 8 years but had a feeling we might this time. After opening the curtains this morning think I made the right decision The XV is mainly my other half's car and she absolutely hates the Forester 5 spokes on it. I admit they do look a tad dated
  4. No my FSTI was almost twice as fast as the BRZ
  5. From what I've researched it's pretty much all Subaru. Boxer engine, Chassis, suspension etc etc. Only input Toyota had was some cylinder head re-working, a little exterior design and a little more interior design Having purchased one specifically for my local track where the layout does not require outright speed I am pretty chuffed with it so far. Far more fun than my Forester STI 330 was on it and that was almost twice as fast. The RWD capabilities on track is where the BRZ excels. If outright speed is what your after then most definitely look elsewhere Saying that I much prefer Subaru's AWD capabilities on road behavior at speed. Although the BRZ's steering far outshines any previous AWD Subaru I have owned even my Legacy Spec B Tourer felt more surefooted on fast undulated UK A roads. I often bimble around the fantastic playground that is Snowdonia so a great place to test a vehicles high speed handling abilities. I cant see many swapping their traditional Subaru AWD's for one of these but if your looking for a small RWD pointy 2 seater (OK I know its got four but have you seen them? ) for the money it's got pretty much all the boxes ticked
  6. Having been a member of the UKLegacy.com there are quite a few on their who have had the re-map at DH Cars and have commented on how better the car drives. I don't think there was any great gains in power just a smother power delivery and an eradication of a torque dip some had experienced with the standard set up

  8. Well seeing as everyone else is offering up their car history and there are some interesting wheels some have purchased here are mine. Baring in mind I'm a musician and have always needed to lug about a drum kit, its not been a very sporty history of vehicles First up is Toad my Austin Morris Sherpa 2.0 petrol 4 speed with a steering box and brake drums all round ! Then came a disAstravan Mk1 1.7D (Not even a turbo) so a real slug. Then comes disAstravan Mk3. Originally a 1.7TD. This one I put 100K miles on then decided to customise it. Redtop 2.0, brakes, respray, bodykit, bonnet bulge :) Stainless etc etc diAstravan Mk4.....bit of a theme going on here . This one came as is with the headlight conversion, spoilers and alloys etc Up sized to a Vito 2.2TD and I vowed to make it look a little different. Very rare Finnish bodykit, Alloys, lowering springs, big brakes, stainless etc Upgraded to one of the very fist VW T5's. 2.5TD LWB T32 (Well before there where ANY UK firms customising them) I saw it at the London motor show in 2006 and it had every conceivable extra apart from a sunroof. ABT body kit and 19 alloys, lowering springs, Quad stainless, Chipped to 205BHP (Audi 5 pot). Mega sound system, TV's etc etc. Even left the lary graphics on it for a while :) I was 42 when I bought my first car ! It looked nice but was a bag of #*#* . From birth it had ongoing electrical gremlins and was a joke in the snow As we had a few successive bad winters and I then lived at the foot of the Pennine's this called for some AWD action. Enter the Subaru Forester XTen 2,5 Boxer. An uprated rear ARB, sports grille and a set of winter tyres and wheels had me on drama free all year round Having sold the XT to a mate and instantly regretting it I went in search of another. Couldn't find one but happened on this fella. 2006 pre facelift Legacy Spec B Tourer. I had this until Dec 2017 of which in almost 100k miles only a headlight bulb and battery failed THE best vehicle I have ever owned. Great performance and handling and put a smile on my face every time I drove it. Whilst owning the Legacy I had a dabble with a JDM vehicle. Subaru's Forester STI. Originally a Lichfield import so power up to 330BHP and forged internals. A beast in all respects and one I took to the track for the first time After selling the STI to fund a house move and then selling the Spec B last Dec I ended up with this barge on wheels. Nice place to be inside with all the tech you could want but a rather dull driving experience And finally my new 2017 facelift BRZ
  9. All sorted. Dealership we purchased from is fitting sensors for us now for a reasonable cost
  10. Nope and yes Eye wateringly expensive

Good condition all tabs present 2006 Spec B specific Bilstein front and rear dampers, springs, top mounts for sale. 12. I can attest that the Garlach systems offered for the 3.0 on ebay etc are fine. Fit could be a little better and the tailpipes are pants (re-use your own boxes). Mine sat a little low at the rear end so I slightly raised with a change of rubber straps Recently sold my 10 year old Spec B Tourer (owned for 7 years) and when the original mild steel system corroded at the Y section I had built a Powerflow stainless system. It could be a little bit boomy around the 80mph mark so I purchased a Garlach system as I figured it would sell quicker The Garlach system sounded fine and still rasped a little under acceleration so for £95 delivered its a no brainer cost wise The Powerflow system will be up for sale as soon as I get time to give it a clean and take some pics
  13. Drivers door plate will list if Spec B. Best of the bunch if it has to be a UK Legacy
  14. Wife has just purchased a 2014 XV and although it has the camera she is wanting parking sensors. Her old car had them blardy de bla and anyhow the camera is not great when its raining Any specific recommendations/advice or is it a case of any will do?
  15. My wife has just purchased a 2014 XV and we are surprised to hear the Subaru dealership had not heard of this recall and upon checking the vehicle has not to date been checked over for it! This will now be done before collecting the vehicle
